Had one mounted on a model 70 of mine. Was very impressed with its quality. Didnt even require a lapping. After it was lapped, (force of habit) no shine back at me. Very well made and high quality 1 piece systems.

I'm on my sixth, I rather like them. They look like they grew out of the top of the gun. the rings can't be misaligned, and you eliminate two possible points of loosening from vibration.
Any time I've had a question, in about 60 seconds I'm talking to a machine operator, not someone paging through a book and asking me if I can "please hold". They know their stuff.
As a bonus, they're made in the USA, in North Carolina. It won't turn the economy on a dime, but I feel good knowing I spent my money stateside.

Have you tried the freedom reaper?
I am tempted by the 30mm with 20MOA with the forward offset (for an AR).
It's not cheap but seems like a slightly cheaper alternative to a Nightforce unimount.
Better, worse?
Thanks.Comment

I use these on both my Savage bolt action 7MM Magnums and really like the fit and function. They have not failed me yet.Comment

I have a 1 piece DNZ mount on Savage model 10. It is solid and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. The thing I like is it ready to go out of the package, no lapping.Comment

Thanks for all the input, I am going to order one and give it a shot.
What height do you guys typically use for a Rem 700 with a 50mm objective and a 30mm tube?
I called DNZ for help but they still havent got back to me yet.Last edited by ExtremeX; 11-30-2012, 2:18 AM.ExtremeXComment

DNZ mounts run shorter from my experience. I had a 1'' high on my model 70 with a 50mm super slam scope and that gave me about 2mm-3mm clearance after I had the proper eye relief.
High mount for the 700 and a 30mm tube will give you an optical center at 1.23'' which should do it for you. Medium optical center is 1.105'' if you want to measure it all out to confirm.
