    Recommendations for a scope.

I'm thinking about putting a scope on one of my AR15s. I primarily shoot with irons so I'm clueless with scopes. I need it for medium to long range purposes. I am willing to spend about $250 to $500, maybe more if it's well worth the money and is a sound investment . Any recommendations?

I just bought one the new Burris AR-536 prism scopes for my Noveske AR-15. One of the best I've seen in a long time IMO. Took it to the range got pretty decent groupings right our of the box at 100 yards.

What distances were you looking to shoot? Also, more for target or hunting?

I'm looking for a scope that will serve multiple purposes, anything that can shoot out to 200+ yards.

Take a look at the mid range magnification. Nikon has the m223 2-8 that would be a great choice. perfect from 50 yards at 2x to out past 400 and more. I've used this exact scope on a few AR platforms and have a lot of fun with it. Huge fan of the BDC.

Leupold also has a VX3 in 1.5-5x20 that is a nice optic for an AR. still can easily go from 50 yards to over 400.

            Both very solid choices.

Anyone have experience with this one? It's quite affordable but I question the quality due to the price.

Versatile, very good glass, lifetime warranty from a great company plus two options; mil or moa setting

Will hold its value and easy to sell if you ever upgrade.

I've looked through this one at my local dealer. I used it to look accross a six lane freeway from the showroom and it was amazing. I could pick the head off a peigon from where i was standing and zoom out for a full tactical view with both eyes open.
