It will absolute co-witness with that set-up (meaning that when you have the proper sight picture through your irons you'll be looking through the center of the EOTech window and the center dot will sit on the tip of the front sight post).

I prefer a bottom third co-witness (difference here is you're looking through the bottom 1/3 of the window instead of the middle). It keeps the front sight post from obscuring the view when you're going without the rear sight up.

Will i need a riser with the EOtech using front post and a mi ers for co witness?

yeah i will probably not want absolute and go for a !/3 setup so i guess ill need a riser an suggestions? regarding the 553 i was hoping to stay at about $500 or less so i may go w a 552 but i am not fond of the length but the 551's n cell battery life blows so we will see..

I think there's a NIB one for sale in the forums. The risers would either be YHM or LaRue, with Larue absolutely being better, but it's $150 itself -- just like a good Aimpoint mount would be. I've never seen anyone say they've done it, but I don't know why a ARMS 17DR wouldn't work, too.

Do you use NV? Cause you might be just fine with a 512 or 511 over the 55X series. That's the only difference, just like CompM vs CompML

NV= nightvision If you're going to use a nightvision scope behind the EOTech it has special brightness settings.

The EOTech 557 has a built-in riser which will give a lower 1/3 co-witness. Otherwise, LaRue makes a riser or you can get a Rock River Arms Dominator mount that is a riser and rear iron sight in one.
