    Help with my 'cheap' optic

    Hello all,

Let me preface this by saying I know its a cheap optic, but it supposedly worked for others per Amazon.com Reviews on their S&W 22A.

Anyways, I purchased this reflex sight. It looked good when I received it, I mounted it without much need for instruction. However it wasn't so smooth... Is the below okay?

I was able to work with it and zero it. Worked perfect while it held its zero... Then after a couple of magazines, I noticed my shots were off. I went back to a supported shot and sure enough, it did not hold zero. I noticed the top got loose and removed the sight, seated it the the same way then zeroed it again. Same issue. See image below...

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Again, the two reviews I found for this cheapo reflex sight it has worked fine for .22lr Pistols, specifically my S&W 22A. However, I cannot get it to hold its zero... Any advice or tips would help.

Note: I am new, so I could be missing something very basic...

First pic..i think it shouldnt be sitting like that. It should mount flush at a 90 degree up. It seems like the mount is tilted.

Second pic..maybe throw in some loctite on the screw and see what it does.

You might have that side clamp upside down. Or it might just fit like crap cuz its crap. 50/50.
As for holding zero, you could try loctite, but it will be a pain if you ever have to adjust or re-zero. Maybe a dab of RTV Silicone over the heads of the adjustment screws?

That's odd, you must've got a bad one that slipped through QC. I have the exact same one on a GSG-5 and it has held zero for over 1000 rounds and the mount sits perfect....They also come with a lifetime warranty I believe so I would send it back to AIM Sports.

          +1 on this.

As far as shifting zero, I've added a little loctite on some of those adjustment type screw. Had a Burris some time ago that needed it. It would drift. Just a little drop should do the trick.

Correction, in the second picture it looks like the screw which holds the "R" is loose, but it is not. It is the screw that holds the base to the unit, the "U". It is the interior screw that seems to get loose, which is barely visible in my second picture.

Any idea where I should put the Loctite (on threads?) and how I can get to it with the correction I posted above?

Very good to hear that it does work well. It had great reviews for a .22 and I hope it works out well for me as I'd love to use it on my upcoming Sig 522 or on a future .22lr plinker.

I will have to wait till I get out of the office and I will test that theory as well. Thanks!

All other posts are good advice. As far as your loose windage screw, you might try light duty (purple) loctite on the threads. Should be much easier to adjust later. But I'd figure out that mount as well.

If you got it from amazon, return it and grab one from primary arms. Much better built for not much more $

I may try that, which screw? The "windage screw" would be the "U" and "R" screws right?

Turns out I had them right... just doesn't fit well on the 22A... fits better on my Ruger 10/22 Picatinny Rail. See below for perfect fit...

I would love to had I known, but now that I have some investment tied down, I'd rather get this to work.
