for those looking for quality spotting scope at reasonable price, take a look at Konus Konuspot80... gets great reviews across the board - I've had one for a while and it has been a great purchase.

I used a Simmons at sac valley Fri and to be honest it sucked. Not sure what the power was but my Nikon buckmaster 4.5x14 smoked that PoC at 100 yards.... it was a joke.

I may have that same simmons scope. And yes it sucks at 100 yards (won't quite focus and starts darkening), but you can't beat the $25 price. It is a little better if you 'pull back' on the power setting. I have a pair of the $10 binoculars from them and they are great. The scope on my rifle is better so I am also looking for a better spotting scope. As my name for this sights goes, I am cheap. Latest purchase was a Shooting Chrony Beat Master so I have to save up again before the next purchase.

Free shipping is for any order over $29.99 that is a large 'freight' item. So any spotting scope, riflescope, flashlight, holster, etc over $29.99 is free shipping. Calguns code will give you 5% off the order and you receive that free shipping anyway. Also, no tax if you're not in Illinois, sorry Illinois residents...

OK, Report on the Redfield rampage.. Got it yesterday and got to try it out today. Took it out and around up in the hills just to see its range and what not. Seems extremely clear and the focus adjustment is super easy. Eye relief is Kinda tight when you turn it up to 60x but still very clear and easy to focus. I really like how smooth the focus knob feels while adjusting it. I was able to focus in on a couple of people over a mile away and get a real clear image of them, there was some mirage but that would be the same with any scope I assume. The scope comes with a nice padded cover that stays on the scope to keep it from getting all banged up as well as end caps for both ends.. EDIT))) Oh yea it came with a little cheap tripod.. It works well but the screw that keeps its elevation set comes loose as you go up and down.. Once I was on my target it stayed there..

Then this afternoon I went out and zeroed in my AR and was able to see each hole at 100 yards no problem what so ever.. Saved me a ton of walking today.

I also Bought a bushnell window mount so you can roll your window most of the way down and have a nice steady rest for your scope.. It worked well as well..

Over all I am extremely pleased with this scope for $200. I think it was money well spent..

yup, i learned that lesson too, twice. their customer service is ehh but the exchange/return policy is shietty. i bought a spotting scope and flashlight from them. the flashlight's remote on/off wire didn't work right out of the plastic, and their spotting scope was GARBAGE!!

Celestron regal 60. By far the best for the money. Had a red field , took it back after the first day at the range. Had a Nikon - glad I sold it.

Went to different stores to compare. Take a target with you and post it out 200 yards.

Too bad you got a bad redfield.. Mine really excelled on my range today.. My 225 yard target was clear as could be and I could see 308 bullet holes .. Did not shoot my AR223 on it though.. great glass

Nobody is more discriminating than a birder when it comes to glass.

Save yourself buyers remorse. I have owned more different types of glass then any body on this forum and finally wised up and talked to the birders.
