Don't use rings with different heights - that's far too much cant. I don't know what to make of your situation other than perhaps your scope isn't mounted properly? At that distance its more common for the POI to be below the POA. Perhaps something is wrong with your setup, forcing a cant into it?--Brando -

find an old booklet of pictures in the closet and pull out a negative strip. take your scope off and cut a piece of the film to fit the rear ring cup. Set the film in the cup and put your scope back in the rings and re-tighten. I would not recomend going over 2 strips of film though because any higher than that and you risk bending the scope.Comment

Where is it hitting at 200 yds?Is it a bullet rise thing? The cheapest fix is what E Shaw90 said. The plastic liners in those rings protect the scope finish.I use them without hesitation on long range stuff needing 20MOA.In your case,if I am reading correct, you would reverse the scenario.I got tired of the scope on my Socom after a year.Love that thing without a thing on it.The big *** sights have to be learned, but work good for me to 300 meters.Comment

I could be wrong but I think the problem comes from mounting the scope on the stock instead of the receiver. The stock and the barrel are probably not on the same plane. So in your case the stock is pointing downwards causing your bullets to hit high!
So as a fix I would shim the stock to get it up to your POI, or mount the scope to the receiver.Wanna learn to shoot SKEET? I am here to introduce all shooters to the sport of SKEET Shooting ....

Thanks everyone for your response. I took off the Ultimak rail just to see if it was installed correctly and it was. It mates with my barrel as designed, would not know what to shim it with where as the heat from the barrel could melt anything i had in mind. and since my scope is mounted on it, I need it to hold a rock solid position.
Coyote, I never shot it more than 25yrds, I agree with you, Shaw90's solution is the most optimal, thanks Shaw90. After doing some calculations with my POI at 25yrds I found that the Burris .020 insert and rings will align my scope accordingly with play for up and down elevation.
THANKS AGAIN FELLAS I F@#KEN LOVE THIS FORUM!!!Comment

Brass huh? Sounds like a good method always good to have an extra option thanks IvanimalComment

couple of things come to mind...
try a different scope ..any scope just to eliminate your scope being off
the other is the ultimak is a picatinny rail and you're using weaver rings....make sure they bed flat on the rail...and are seated to the bottom in the notches. The fixes...get picatinny rings or file to fit the weaver rings...I've done that before.Comment

EER Scope On an M1A
Johnny-Auto, How did you finally solve your scope issue? I have virtually the same set-up as you and the exact same result. I am 16 inches high at 100 yards and I have run out of adjustment!! I'm using a Nikon Force XR EER 2.5-8 scope with medium Blackhawk tactical rings on my SOCOM M1A. Did you shim a ring or swap out the rings and/or scope??? Thanks. JLComment
