aimpoint or EOtech?

okay so i typed in "aimpoint / eotech" in the search bar and nothing came up.


which would you prefer on an AR-15? Aimpoint or EOtech?

please state which model and features on it you would purchase in a comment below.

Hm, I like both, I went with a Eotech (the #556 model) so it would take the same batteries (CR123) as my Surefire M600 on the the rifle.
But I do like the lines of the Aimpoint and also the fact it does not shut off after 2 hours like the Eotech.
For the money both can be found some what cheap ($300-600 range used/new)
What is your purpose for selecting a red dot/HWS?
They have magnifiers also.

Having owned several EOtechs , including the XPS, I would have to say my Aimpoint PRO. 2 MOA reticle, clearer dot, better battery life, etc.
Im sure Im gonna read the field of view is better on the EOtech. Thats completely false. With both eyes open the field of view is the same.

Ivoted aim point the the M4 model because it uses a type batteries that are available everywhere.

In the realm of red dot optics, I don't think there's anything that compares to the CompM4.

I sold it in favor of an ACOG, but if I ever went back to a red dot, it would be the CompM4 again.

I didn't vote, I like them both for totally different reasons.

IMO, Eotech's 65 moa circle 1 moa dot reticle is superior, but Aimpoints are the undisputed leader when it comes to durability and battery life. I'm hopefully awaiting the time when one of them finally combines the two features, I like to image that that's probably what keeps both their R&D and product development departments busy.

Eotech gets my vote, I like the reticle better, and I also like the fact the mount/base is part of the sight.

What is your purpose for selecting a red dot/HWS?

i dont really have a reason. i have a red dot on right now made by primary arms, i'd like to go with something a little lighter and smaller to free up some room on my rails.

thank you guys! i am now in the market for an Aimpoint. hopefully i can give my business to a CGN friendly company. botach's no tax, free shipping, and them being local is looking good. so far i've have 0 issues with them. i'm feeling the T-1 or H-1

2 MOA Aimpoint in any version you can afford. The micros are really nice, and simple to use. They don't shut off, and they last literally for years with the batteries left on. I would go Aimpoint on a true combat rifle, but for easy to use, CQB, I would go with an EOtech. Its a personal preference, nothing more.

Had eotech 512. Sold it. Bought aimpoint comp m4. Will never sell it. Better battery life, FOV is same as eotech, dot easier to find than on eotech. Also for some people the eotech reticle is fuzzy, that includes me.
