    Let me start by saying, I support all my local shops (sometimes too much...lol) and really appreciate there help when it comes to guns, customizing, cleaning supplies, etc. But when it comes to optics........Optics Palnet ROCKS!!!!!! I have ordered several times from them in the past and have always received my order fast, it's always correct, and it has always been packaged good. I placed an order this morning after asking a couple questions (which were answered quickly and explained clearly) during an online chat. Then I realized this evening that the coupon code I thought I inputed did not show up. I connected once again and they took care of it, they are crediting back the amount on the coupon. AWESOME!!!!!       Yes, they are a pretty good vendor. I was surprised to find stuff that wasn't optics related. I got my Lyman Turbo Tumbler 1200 for the best price, was in-stock and shipped fast/free.

      I like that your total order can ship free over $30. That really helps when you don't have to pay a $10 shipping fee for a $30 item.

      I just today ordered a Weaver V-3 1-3x20mm scope from Opticsplanet for general purpose usage - AR/rimfire etc.... And, bought a some rifle slings two weeks ago too!

          I've purchased many things from OP - and when the items are in stock it's great... however, they often don't tell you they are out of stock until after you order.

          Recently (as in got shipment today) - I ordered from DVOR (for those unfamiliar, they are basically Optics Planet sale site - check out their site for info)... I ordered a Sreamlight TLR1s and Burris Fastfire II... I was really looking forward to the Fastfire (only bought the TLR1s because I was already paying for shipping, so I added it to the order just to have an extra light, (that I really dont need)...

          I opened the box and was PISSED!!! The light was there, but no Burris Fastfire There was a notation on the shipping invoice that said "some items not in stock, you will receive an email if there are available for back order" - credit account the amount of the item. Well thats BS! If I knew the Burris wouldnt be there, I would have cancelled the order - I paid $10 for shipping a damn light that I really dont need (again, I only added the light to the order since I was paying for shipping anyway for what I really wanted).

          I thinks its crap that they didnt give me the option to cancel the order - I plan to call tomorrow and tell them unless they intend to ship the Burris (for free, since I already paid for shipping), they better be willing to accept this TLR1s and credit everything back (including the ADDITIONAL shipping I have to pay to send it back to them).

          I've bought several hundred dollars worth of stuff in the last few months (just from DVOR alone - plus many orders from OP normal site)... but I'm not sure I will continue after the crap they pulled with this last order.

          BTW, Its not the first time I've actually placed an order and the item is not in stock - but at least in the past they send an email notifying me its on back order and I have the opportunity to cancel (which I do/did).

          Sorry for the rant - I wouldn't have gone out of my way to start a thread about this - but when I saw this existing thread I had to get it off my chest (and I guess warn people of the potential for this to happen).

                I called 'em - I have two options... send the TLR1 back now and they will cover shipping (and refund the charge of course)... or wait and see if the Fastfire II comes in (expected 11/21/11), and they will ship it (without additional shipping charge since it should have been on this order)...

                That's all fine - except... if the Fastfire isnt in when they anticipate (and they can't guarantee) then I'm stuck with the light, or have to pay to ship back (and will only have a few days from the expected back-order date to return).

                I'm taking my chances and hoping the Burris arrives when they expect it... but if I order from them again, I will call to see if item is in stock first.

                Every other site I order from (and there are many) always says whether item is in stock or not. I hate that OP and DVOR do not.

                  Yup, Am an OP customer and only reason I got my xps at exile was group buy or i'd have gone OP. Always happy with OP service and products and prices.

                    This is a great company. I used to buy telescope stuff from them before I got involved in guns, and now they have a great selection of gun optics, pistol night sights. (Not to mention holsters...)

                    So, yes, I'm happy with them..

                      My wife recently ordered some glasses from them, they sent an email saying that the product wasnt in stock and it would ship when it was, it took about a week for it to get in stock and then another few days for shipping.

                      No biggie, it happens sometimes.

                      Before her glasses came in i ordered a scope, they sent an email saying that the product wasnt in stock and it would ship when it was, it took about a week for it to get in stock and then another few days for shipping.

                      Kind of frustrating, 2 out of 2 times ive ordered from them, they didnt have the product. This would be much less annoying if there was something on the website that said "this product is not in stock- back order OK" or "expected in stock xx/xx/xx" or something.

                      oh well, good deals from them, im still waiting on my scope though.

                          waiting for something to ship is one thing... ordering two items, having one shipped and not knowing if/when the other will be available is totally different... It may seem odd to some, but I dont mind paying $10 for shipping on $280 purchase - but I dont like paying $10 for a $95 purchase (which is what my situation is)... had I known there is a chance the $185 item wont become available, I probably would not have ordered.

                          Mind you, this is from DVOR (which is basically Optics Planet's sale site) - there are only a select number of items daily and they show what is in stock and what is sold out (if you are a member, you'll know what I mean)... so the fact that they shipped a filler item (which is all the cheaper thing I bought was) and didnt tell me the item I really wanted was out of stock - bugs me.

                            Dvor doesn't send out backorder notices because we tell you how long it will take before something ships before you place your order:



                            I looked, and the last time we listed the Burris FastFire was from Oct 19 - Oct 22 and had an expected to ship date of 4-6 weeks.

                            You'll also see expected to ship times in the shopping cart before you check out. We sent you the TLR-1 because we could (I think it was a "ships in 1-2 business days" listing) and in most cases, we want to get you whatever you ordered as fast as we can even if means WE pay shipping twice. You won't be charged shipping again to get the FastFire.

                            I'm sorry about the wait, and I hope you get your FastFire even sooner than expected. I also hope I gave everyone on this forum a little better understanding of how Dvor works, and where you can find shipping time frames on the site.

                            And yes, we hope to have something similar on OpticsPlanet.com soon!
