I'm leaning toward a rifle scope (think MK AR scope) on my fixed handled 20-incher that I will use for paper punching and metal munching. Sure there may be better rifle setups for this type of shooting, but this is all I have for now. Trigger time is trigger time and I'm pretty sure I have the patience for it. If it doesn't work...oh well...I'll just shoot it within the rifle's (better than me I'm sure lol) and my capabilities with naked irons and naked eyes and let it be what it is, no biggie. I just wanted to get some feedback to have an idea what to expect before I buy the scope.

Scope on 20" A2 rifle fixed "handle"

Mounting a scope on top of the carry handle will work fine, BUT it will screw up your cheek weld when shooting prone and make you push your head fully upright "prairie dog" style. Not a great thing for consistency of eye position behind the scope. A cheek piece on the stock can help correct this.Comment

The Mark AR is a wonderful scope for the money. I always say it's like having a little high def tv right in front of your eye. I have a 3-9x with mil dot reticle and can't tell a difference between it and something that costs $500-$600 more. It is truly a great scope. The BDC turret works as advertised with the prescribed ammo, so I have I have it sighted for that, but use it mostly to shoot 69gr stuff. I can't say enough good things about that scope.I'm leaning toward a rifle scope (think MK AR scope) on my fixed handled 20-incher that I will use for paper punching and metal munching. It also has a very generous eye relief, so it will work well with your set-up.

Solve your problems with a barrel wrench, change the 20 inch barrel onto the flattop and the scope pad is there. Those 50 aged eyes if like mine chase 60 way to quickly. Put the shorter barrel on the A2 and make that the carbine style.
Now go get a good 3x9 or better for the flattop and have at it.01-FFL - Restorer and sales of old battle rifles
Smile, it makes then wonder what your up to !
Leave it cleaner than you found it, one day you may come back to it.
