    Nikon vs. Vortex

I've been looking at the Nikon Monarch scopes and came across the Vortex scopes that are priced similar but have better specs as far as internal elevation adjustments, how do these compare? Is one better then the other or pretty similar and just down to what will work better for my needs.

Kind of all depends in what you want from a scope, how far do you want to see long range, close quarters,etc...Not sure if this is overkill but I posted a thread for a range of 100yrds as if I was 2-3 feet in front of the target heres the link:

As far as the quality glass in Nikon and Vortex very small differences. But it comes down to Nikon, self preference.

Heres what I'm leaning towards buying 70% off too for a $200+ scope for $99 bucks

    Hope this helps some

Both have good reputations. Vortex seems to be a pretty popular brand lately. A lot of people buying them and a lot of people are impressed. Then again Nikon's 223 series is really popular right now as well. I owned one of their Tactical series long range scopes a while back. It was a little bulky. I upgraded to a Leupold and liked that better. But the Leupold cost a good $300 more. So that is not exactly fair to the Nikon. For the amount I paid for it, it was impressive. It definately gave me my money's worth. I just had money to burn so I did.

Vortex has always been a good optic for me. They may be "mid end" but I'm not a operator in anyway. I've owned four of their products and been satisfied for my purposes.

You have to compare the ''Vortex Viper'' with the ''Nikon Monarch''. This would be an equal comparo. My vote 50/50 side note they have/had trouble with tunnel vision in the Viper line so if you choose this scope make sure it is of the new line, meaning with in the last few months.
