Question about a scope and base

Yep, that means if the scope is centered, he has 25 MOA up and 25MOA down. Put on a 20 MOA base and now he has to dial down 20 MOA to counteract the canted base. That leaves only 5 MOA of adjustment to account for "slop" in everything to get zeroed.

With a zero cant base, he should have plenty to get to 600 yards.

Good choice, for 600 yard shooting you don't need the 20 MOA base.

On my 6.5x284 I put a 20 MOA Farrel base and wound up not being able to zero at 100 yards. The gun was shooting over a foot high at 100 yards and I had to buy the Burris Insert Rings with the .020" offsets. The gun now hits 2" high at 100 yards with the scope adjusted 2 clicks off the bottom stop.

I can shoot out to 1,000 yards without getting to the middle of the adjustment range of my scope.

i guess i am the only one with a .223 that has a 20 moa base. guess the super sniper paid off.

looks like you guys were right on the money. According to JBM it should tale me 59.5 clicks to get to 600. Rounding up to 60 we are looking at 15 moa. So assuming I don't need much MOA adjustment to zero I should still have 5 to 10 moa left without the 20 moa base. i don't think 223 will be doing much out to 1000 so I should be good.
