Not a guru but "I stayed at the Holiday INN last night".... LOL

Don't buy till you get a chance to look through a few. Great optics and they make a few different models to suit your discipline of shooting, whatever that may be. Great customer service and warranty. Biggest difference is where it draws its illumination of the reticule from. Ambient light. No batteries required. Can be almost too bright sometimes because it works so well. Relatively fast for reflex fire although I personally would go aimpoint/eotech for that. Some ACOGs have very short eye relief but there are a few models that have much better eye relief. Try a few out before ya buy. I've used the TA01NSN(issued) and a TA33-8. Still use the TA33-8 as it has better eye relief for me. Hope this helps you out.

I am curious about this too. Same for me, mounted to flat top AR. I want it for 0-300yrds.

      For those that respond...

Why did you pick the one you did?
Do you wish you would have picked a different one?
What's the strength of the one you have and what's the weakness?

The TA-01 has a standard crosshair type reticle (with some ooptions) with tritium illumination when it's dark. It's a fixed 4x.

The TA-33 has many different reticles available and features fiber-optic daylight illumination in addition to tritium low-light reticle illumination. The TA-33 is a fixed 3x

The TA-31 is pretty much the same as the TA-33 but is fixed 4x.

The TA-11 is also similar to TA-33/31 in available reticle choices and is fixed 3.5x.

There are also ACOGS available in 1.5x, 2x and 5x.

Look here to see all available models.

You will need a flat top mount adapter, make sure the one you choose is bundled with one or order it separately.

As mentioned earlier, it really helps to look through a few first or you may not wind up with the one you really want

IMHO, the TA33 is the best all-round one for a single optic as it's 3x mag range is easier to use at CQ distances than the 3.5-4x ones.

I have the TA-01 and chose it strictly for competition usage. I use a red dot for CQ work so the 4x mag is perfect for me. If I wanted only one optic onboard I would go with a TA-33 and probably choose the chevron reticle style. But that's just me

I run a TA-11HG it has a green, dual illuminated horse shoe reticle with ranging capabilities. The TA-11 type ACOG's have great eye relief, necessary for "run n' gun" type of shooting. I chose green because it contrasts better for me and is VERY easy to pick up in close quarters, both eyes open shooting. All ACOGS are great... great glass, some reticles are more functional and others more simple, dual illumination is great, Trijicon is great, and they are all built like little tanks. Like someone else said, get some trigger time behind a few and see what you like! For me personally, eye relief, reticle color, and dual illum were key issues in the decision. Your mileage may vary. Feel free to pm with any questions!

is it hard to change colors? Is it just the white looking thing on top of the scope?

I'm in no way a ACOG guru, but I went with the TA33G-H over the TA11 for a few reasons:1) It's cheaper, 2) It's smaller, 3) It weighs less. It's stated eye relief is 1.9" but it's actually more than that. I was a little concerned about the narrow field of view, but now that I've been shooting it awhile it really doesn't bother me, especially since I shoot with both eyes open anyway. One thing that bothers me a little is that I can see my front sight while looking through the scope. It's no big deal and half the time I don't even notice it, but sometimes I just see this black blur in the lower half of my scope. Maybe one day I'll switch to flip-ups.

I read that the BDC is calibrated for a 14.5" barrel and 62 grain bullets, but don't quote me on that since I read it on another forum.

i had the chance to look thrue ta11 ta33 and ta31.and hands down ta11 wins for all around cqb and mid range scope.only 3 ounces more then the rest which is no big deal at all.

the TA11 is ****ing huge. if you're looking for something to go on a 14.5 i would recommend the TA33. i've been using mine for a few years and it's fantastic. everything from contact distance to 400 yards without any problems.

its very light weight, has good eye relief and is relatively cheaper compared to other ACOGs.

I have the amber colored chevron, but if I could buy it again I would get the green horseshoe.

ta11 mounted with larue is same hight as ta33.ta11 is only tad bit longer.again why sacrifice fov/eye rel.

I have a TA11-f. Chevron reticle and has longer eye relief. I just use the standard TA51 mount it came with and has held up perfectly fine. I use this to shoot from 50-600 yrds.
