Why does the dot have to be perfectly round? You aren't trying to calculate distance a la mildots. Red dots are for quick shooting at moderately close ranges.

So OP, have you resolve the issue of the dot blooming/exploding? I too just aquired a micro dot but its from a fellow member, so I have'nt emailed PA about my issue. The dot on mine at whatever intensity is blooming, funny thing is, if I look through it with my BUIS, then the dot is well, a dot, no exploding or blooming look. But I guess that defeats the purpose of having a RD if the rear sight has to be engage to give it a clear round dot.

I believe so. From what I was told, is that I had the brightness up too high. When I have it set to say level 2 or 3 in the house, it becomes a lot more crisp. So you have to adjust accordingly. The same room at level 11 was way too fuzzy. Is this normal? I dunno, because I don't have any other rd to compare it too. But that's what a few members and Marshall explained, and I trust them.

I still have the issue of the emitter blocking the right lip of my front sight. I turned the mount around the other way, and it moved the sight over to the right slightly which improved it a little, so it's just something you have to get used to.

I was thinking about it. And really, if it ever does fail or gets too annoying, the mount is on a quick release and detaches in seconds

to me, the fuzziness is distraction. on the right setting though, its a nice tiny red dot.

I know that. I was just wondering if its normal to have the dot look like a dot when viewed through the buis but glows/bloom without the buis.

Oh and thanks for the response OP, well on mine even at setting # 1 it still blooms.
