    Spoting scope

What's a good brand spoting scope? Does anybody know where i could buy a good but cheap one? I just need one for the 100yd range I go to.

This is what I have, its a Barska 20x60 w/ 60mm lense. Big 5 is having a sale on them right now, its going for $69.00 instead of the usual $189. If you get the newspaper they have a $10 off coupon right now also good til Sunday for any purchase over $50. So the total comes out to be $59.00 for the spotting scope + tax.

I have a similar Barska that I purchased from Big 5 but came with a hard case(20-60 power). I use it for plinking the 50 and 100yard range. It works great for the job at hand, and I don't think you can beat it for the money if all ya do is shoot at the range. My only gripe is that when zoomed in the eye relief sucks. You have to remove your safety glasses and put yourself right up to the rubber eye cup.
That for me is a small price to pay for an inexpensive spotting scope. I would purchase it again since the only reason I bought it was for at the range!

hahaha... yep! I have the same spotting scope and can see a .223 bullet out to about 200 yards. Not bad for $50. If you shoot beyond that, you'll need a better spotting scope.

I have 2 scopes. Just to shoot 100 yards, I use compact Burris 12-24X scope. It has good lenses. For high power rifle matches, I use a Kowa 821 with 27X LER scope. The best in my opinion.

for 100 yards you would be better of with some binoculars than a cheap junk scope that breaks your eyeball. 15x Nikon action extreme binos would do the job and you could use them for other stuff may even get you to 200 yards at the range.

I bought the rugged exposure spotting scope. Reg. 229 on sale for $99. With the $10 off coupon, it was $96otd

This should be good for now. I'm only using it for the 100yd range I go to.

                      Thanks everyone for your inputs.

Where is the best place to buy scope in the bay area

Hi I'm looking for a good place to buy a scope for my ar. I don't want to buy online because I really want to check them out before I buy them. So my question is, does anybody know where is a good place to buy a scope and has good sells rep to tell me everything I need to know about scopes in the bay area? I'm located in San Pablo.

                        Thanks

Barska 20x20x60 is hard to beat, mine has been bright and clear and does the job quit well out to 200 yd. I made a comparison with a spotting scope that sold for four times what I spent for the Barska, and at 200 yd, there wasn't much difference, the Barska is a nice way to get the job done and not break the bank. This is a great spotting scope for the money. I did a lot of research because I wanted something decent, but I also didn't want to spend a ton on a spotter.

Good clear optics at a reasonable price.
