    Aimpoint Micro T1

I ordered a T1 from Smartgunner a few weeks back and finally had a chance to make it to the range. First observation was that this is a dinky little sight but I had high hopes for it. The weather at Sac Valley Sunday was perfect so I decided to take out the Novekse T1 combo and get her sighted in at the 50 yard line.

Its been a little while since I shot irons so I was rusty but after I got warmed up, I got the irons dialed in and drove the dot to the front sight post. Fired a couple of shots and made some adjustments.

Then we went out to the 550 meter steel range and I shot at steel chickens (200 yard line). First shot with the Micro and the steel chicken dropped. 2nd shot....the next chicken dropped. Very happy with the new Aimpoint its a keeper!

I was looking into a T1 for my DDM4. Are you using lower third or full cowitness? Also was wondering, you say you made a few adjustments after driving the dot to the front post how little or much adjustment was needed for your situation?
Sounds like you had an easy time getting it set up, good for you!

Not about the T1, but were you shooting .223 at the chickens or .22? I've been looking for a place to shoot steel with my AR.

I would wager at 200 yards he wasn't shooting .22

I'm sure Nelson could make the shot with a .22

I'd dare say that those who like absolute co-witness are in the minority and more people prefer lower third. Not that there aren't any, but I'm not aware of any trainers who advocate absolute co-witness.

200 yard chickens with 75GR TAP Training ammo. The Novekse shooting .22LR is 1/2 Minute of Man at 100 yards. When I had the ACOG I would routinely get hits using the 400 Yard hash on the BDC.

The T1 is mounted on the LaRue Tall mount giving it a 1/3 Co-Witness. Sighting in was as easy as driving the dot to the front sight post. I fired 3 shots and it was shooting a bit to the right (2 inches) so I made the correct adjustments and it was good to go. The "dot" does not sit center to the front sight post use the irons when shooting with the dot anyways so its not a biggie.

You need to be a member at Sac Valley Shooting Center to shoot on the steel range. You can also shoot there if your with a member.

For .223 you cannot shoot FMJs or Steel core ammo. I use 75gr TAP Training HP rounds. Its proven extremely accurate with the N4.
