I have a DDM4...for purposes of this discussion money or other sights are NOT an option, assume that both of these sights (I would get the DD riser for the micro) cost the same amount of money...which would you get and why?

T1, it's smaller.
Don't let the name fool you... -
T1.
Or save $100+ and get a used M3 or ML3.Comment

I know just what you mean.. Even though I don't own any night-vision devices..
But hey, if you're buying an Aimpoint, you're only gonna buy once. Might as well get all the bells and whistles.Originally posted by Maddog5150The best CQB weapon of all time = A big ****ing rock

I'm a big fan of the T1. Although I have not tried an M4S, I can only imagine the size which should be similar to the M/ML series.Comment

T-1 has a great form factor, and clearly has a lot of fans here! However, the M4 is going to be a little easier to acquire when shooting from odd positions and from the support side.
Also, do you plan to use a magnifier with it? Do you have astigmatism? I do and I find that the dot in my T-1 streaks out (looks like a blob or comet) when viewed through the Aimpoint 3X (it's not as noticeable at 1x). However, for some reason my CompM2 is much better. This seems to vary from person to person so ideally you'd be able to check both out yourself.Comment

Do you guys have an explanation for this? Is the tube diameter bigger, meaning a bigger field of view?
Edit: one thing not yet mentioned: the M4 is 2 MOA whereas the H1/T1 is 4 MOA. That said, you can lower the intensity on the H1/T1 until it appears quite small. I just dialed in my H1 today and I was knocking out the X-ring at 50 yds, at 100 yds it doesn't cover the whole black on the larger target center (50 yd type) so you can do 9s, 10s, and Xs pretty easily (bench rested, of course).Last edited by Swiss; 02-13-2010, 8:28 PM.Being pro-gun rights in the Bay Area is like being a vegan at an Outback Steakhouse. Yeah, the T-1 has a smaller tube meaning you have a little less leeway in positioning of your eye/head to pick up the dot than with the larger M4/M3/M2. Not a deal killer by any means though.Do you guys have an explanation for this? Is the tube diameter bigger, meaning a bigger field of view?
