Which one can you throw farther? I think the aimpoint would hurt more, but others may think differ.

When are we going to sticky this topic?

"Best" is a relative term. I prefer the EOTech reticle, but you may be faster with the Aimpoint dot.

I like the 1moa dot that the eotech gives but I like the battery life of the 2moa aimpoint. At 50 yards thats a 1/2" group vs. a 1" group at 50 yards if you're doing your part. Theoretically you can make it smaller but I can't.

Oh, and post up a poll of which specific models of XXX vs. XXX and you may get a good feeling for what people like the most.

I have had a Eotech 517, 553, and a 512..I sold all of them and now I have a Aimpoint H-1 on LaRue and a ML2 on Larue...I LOVE THEM..I really like the battery life of the Aimpoint vs the Eotech..Some people will say that the Aimpoint has less field of view than a Aimpoint. This is because they are using the sight wrong..You are supposed to use the sight with BOTH eyes open..I also have had one Eotech fail on me...I can't say that with the Aimpoints....

                  Sigh...

Aimpoints are more durable and have longer battery life. Until recently, they only came with large MOA red dots which made engaging man-sized targets beyond 200m somewhat problematic. The advantage of the EOTech is the 65/1 MOA reticle which allows very fast acquisition with the ring yet gives you accuracy at distance with the dot. This is why I chose EOTech over Aimpoint in the Sandbox. With that said, EOTech's have always been a bit more complicated to manipulate and have had issues with shutting off mid-recoil. This has apparently been resolved in more recent builds.

Bottom line - both are excellent for what they are designed for and choosing one is really a matter of your needs and preference.

not only that Aimpoint also gives a "tunnel Vision effect Verse the EoTech you do not. but however like mention battery life is much better on the Aimpoint

My vote is for the Aimpoint. I have one mounted on my AK and use it mostly for 3 gun matches. They normally run from point blank to 70 yards and it is super fast. I have yet to try an Eo-Tech for 3 gun but I think it would work well. Another big plus is battery life. At 50 yards shooting Wolf I get a baseball sized groups taking my time. Very solid and no regrets here.

Aimpoint dots are more reliable IMO.

                            Aimpoint Micro.

                            EOTech.

                            Then Aimpoint others.

Also, what are you shooting at 50 yds? Man-sized target? Or a penny?

For a penny, you would need a 9x scope...(4x maybe....).... lol

                            bombadillo talks about 1MOA.... I don't think i can see 1MOA @ 50yds... btw, a penny is roughly 1 MOA(or maybe 1.5MOA) @ 50 yards...
