Vortex or Leupold for a R-25?

Well, i need ascope for an R-25, and I have it narrowed down between the


Vortex Crossfire 2.5-10x50 Riflescope, http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/...eticle/reticle , $179

And

Leupold Mark 4 2.5-8x36mm MR/T M2 Illum. Reticle, http://www.leupold.com/tactical/prod...illum-reticle/ , over $1000

Is there any reason I should drop 800 extra bucks for the leupold? I have a couple vortex strikefires and I like them, but does anyone know how there scopes hold up? ANy thoughts would be appreciated

Apples to oranges. I would be cheap, but thats just me. I tend to take that route and regret it later though. Can't you find something in between somewhere?

Look at Bushnell Elite or Nikon for good Mil-dot scopes... from $300-$600

Vortex Viper has a very good rep. for the price.

Try and look at the Millett scopes. They are around 350ish. Also, there is a Nikon that is around 350 also.
Your only zooming up to 8 on those so you have an option of staying out of the Leupold high range but also staying above that lower range that you picked.

I would recommend the Leupold Mark 4 line or for a lower cost the Mark 2. The Leupold MK4 2.5-8x32mm M2 is one of my favorite Leupolds, they are nice and compact, the M2 turret is very fast, and the glass is great. We stock Leupold.

I have heard good things about the Vortex but I have not been really pleased with what I have seen.
