Anybody use this new mount yet

I don't understand how someone can say they have "SEVERAL" LaRue mounts, but yet they opt to use a $58.00 mount.

I guess if the mount quality fits the scope quality, it's OK. (Don't want to put a gold ring on a pigs snout and all).

What you're missing is history.

Until 6 months ago all that existed for a good cantilever mount was the LaRue. The other options were pretty deficient (not enough relief, weight or more parts, etc). When no other option existed, guys were putting $200 Millets in $200 LaRue mounts.

Now, with the PEPR and this SWFA version, you have the ability to do it for less.

It's also true that you don't need QD for all applications. QD on a scope is so you can pull the scope quickly to use irons, in case something goes wrong. If you're setting up a varmint rifle, why bother with QD?
