Anybody use this new mount yet

It looks somewhat promising. Kind of like the Burris PEPR thats out. http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-AR-Tacitcal-Mounts-C2677.aspx

Anyway, just throwing it out as another option for those looking.

I just bought the SWFA SSALT, which is SWFA's version, hence the SSALT vs PEPR.

UPS says it will be here Thursday and I will let you know. I ordered this version because I did not want the rails on the top.

If you want FJOLD, you can look at mine if you want.

Edit Im retarded and did not read your post. I skimmed and saw the Burris and PEPR and assumed you were curious about that one. Well I will let you know how the SSALT turns out. It was $71.95 OTD from SWFA.

        Looks like a Burris copy.

Let me edit to say, Burris rip-off. They even have the pic ring top. Maybe the have something working with Burris, maybe not.
Hell, they even ripped the Burris XTR ring design. Well, they use a square hole as opposed to the round one Burris uses

Yeah, based on the web pics, it looks like nearly an exact clone, but SWFA doesn't have any useful specs on it (height, weight, rail coverage, etc) that I've seen.

It would be a little disappointing to see SWFA copy someone else's design that closely, but let's see how the comparisons look.

Go to the above listed AR15.com thread. It is almost indentical to the Burris in every dimension.

$10 says they're having the same chinese factory make them.

I actually like the Burris PEPR mount that I got for my truglo infinity scope. they both worked out quite well and managed sub MOA @ 200 yards with a cheap scope in a cheap mount using centurion m193. I never in a million years thought I could have done that but I have 2 witnesses. Regardless of china made or not, it is a decent mount for the money and mounts up rock solid.

Found this post on it too:
I just got the SSALT mount for AR flat-top, seems to be almost identical to the Burris, from specs, at least. I like it.

I have several LaRue mounts, they are great, but why spend $200 on a QD mount when QD isn't needed.

For the money, I like the SSALT mount.

My guess is that whomever makes the rail for Burris and the rings for Burris is also making the SS mounts for SWFA. But that's just a guess.

I can't help but think of the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks.

Just mounted it. It definitely seems solid, especially with 6 torx screws per ring.

Has anyone had a problem with the Burris mount being canted to the left?

I'm new to scopes / mounts / etc and when I mounted my new Millett to the top of my P.E.P.R. the whole darn assembly is angled to the left. It's not co-witnessing my AR's front iron sight.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there an adjustment I'm forgetting to make?

                        TIA

I would too. My SSALT mounted just fine.

                              I wouldn't take that bet.
