Look at the Trijicon MRO. It also has exposed adjustment screws. There are also a few others.

The mounting bolt is a non issue. At least for me. But your side charger would probably be different.

True enough on the adjustment screws, just new to me. Would take a minute to adapt to that. But for the cost really a non-issue.

It’s a PWS Addax Tactical piston upper, the piston rod is very AKish. It was made 2009-10, I’ve owned it for 13 years. Very late 2000s type AR but runs great, high quality components in the upper. The side charger is non-reciprocating, M4 14.5 barrel with a 5.56 chamber.

Here’s a pic of the bolt/carrier and piston.

What are some suggestions for a mid-tier red dot (quality of glass and durability)....if we consider aimpoint T2 / RDS, Eotech, Trijicon MRO to be higher tier along with the price point of those just listed.
Hoping to spend $300 or less. Looking for an optic that has some track record and known company /brand with support.

Any feedback on the Holosun AEMS would be appreciated as well. Can the circuitry / electronic board be seen with the optic off?
                  Thanks.

Don?t know if I?ll get flamed for it but I?d consider PA to be high end budget or mid tier.

I have the Gen 1 MD-25 and it?s amazing and has taken lots of abuse and still functions great, but they sell it without the cover which you can buy from them for $5.

The Gen-1 are around $120-$140 depending on reticle.

The Gen 2 has some additional features like shake-awake for $200.

Or maybe a Sig Romeo 4H with a QD mount?

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. A few pic's of The SOUSA RAID mounted to one of my AK's (Chinese clone I biult years ago). I mounted it on a Attero Arms rail type mount which replaces the rear sight leaf.
