Thanks for getting us the part number. I need to get a list of small parts I need to make a shipping fee worth it but I will grab this rear sight then wait for a sale on the optic.

I believe the price of this optic reflects the fact that is is made entirely in the USA and made to be the toughest handgun optic ever made. And perhaps some price adder for USGI panache.

well it's an enclosed dot, so you can't really compare it to a RMR. It's a different tech/mechanism. Being enclosed, it's not at risk of mud/dirt blocking the dot projector, like a RMR is. It's more like the Aimpoint ACRO P2 ($600) or Holosun 509T ($500), and I'm sure some other brands have cheaper. Still, that is expensive for a pistol dot.

All this when $50 dollar nightsights would allow you to do the same job.

American made, and built to sell to the military. No surprises.

It's way better looking than any other enclosed optic out there - which all look like a rectangular block of aluminum. They make any good looking pistol look bad. The M17 has a sloped front and back which makes it look much nicer on a pistol. However, that price will keep me away.

It'll look great on all those Kalifornia compliant P320-M18's to those that can afford it.

I'm not sure it will fit those pistols. From Sig:

*Please Note - The ROMEO-M17 pistol red dot sight utilizes SIG SAUER'S proprietary SIG-LOC mounting interface and only fits SIG SAUER M17/M18 military issue, and commemorative pistols with a single optics plate mounting screw. This sight will not fit any other pistols.
I have a surplus M17, so I was REQUIRED to buy one, haha!!

I agree with you that it's a great looking enclosed RDS. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

ETA: Sig also has you check a box to acknowledge you've read the following:

Acknowledgement: I understand this optic is non-returnable/non-refundable and will only work on a single screw M17/M18 pistol.

Well that sucks. I wonder why they'd come out with a brand new optic that doesn't mount to most of their newer generation guns?

But OoS…so who knows what the sell price will be when back in stock.

ETA: Can be backordered at that ^ price.
