For selling something people will buy? I wonder if this optic is/was part of the original M17/M18 MHS contracts?

The thing I liked about the Romeo line up until this optic is the minimally colored image out of the optic lens. The notch filter on the M17 looks very dark in the simulated video.

It makes an rmr look like very clear glass. Don’t think they will sell that many, most peoples p320’s are not that cut. $809.99 is just hilarious to me for a Sig optic, a red dot especially.

LOL, well it's SIG and exorbitant prices has not put them out of business yet. This optic is designed for the same civilians who bought the M17/M18 and the MCX SPEAR.

Retailers will drop that price down a bit.

True enough, I didn't think anyone would pay $2500+ for a glorified MCX. I was wrong.

They only fit commemoratives or current GI models. They do not fit any other civilian M17/M18. They do not even fit the real-deal surplus models until they come up with a different rear sight.

So the civilian market is very small for these. I would consider one for my surplus if they get the fitment issue resolved and I can catch a sale

That's disappointing. I was ready to buy one for my surplus M17.

Hopefully, SIG produces a different rear sight.

In the meantime, I'll make do with my FDE DPP and Galloway rear sight insert, haha!!

                    Update:

I asked SIG if the Romeo 17 will fit the suplus. Here was their answer:

Yes, but you may need a different rear sight, part #1302267-08-R, which can be ordered over the phone at 1-603-610-3000, option 1.
Good to know they aren't leaving us surplus M17 people out to dry.

OTOH...I didn't think to ask how much the rear sight was going to cost, haha!!

I don't know what's so hard to believe here.
After all, people buy Kimbers and off roster glocks.
                      And I'm not joking.

I might be a bit slow, but I assume the issue at hand is the price of the optic.

It seems exorbitant, but I am sure people will line up to buy it. I have an M17 that would fit it, but I wouldn't pay that much for any accessory. In fact, I'm not overly thrilled with the M17 at all, and think the military was better off with the M9.

Looks like 20 bucks and some change. Might find it cheaper. This was the first listing from my search

What's another $20 on top of $800, haha!!
