Eotech Explanation ... Please???

Can Someone explain to me why L3 Eotech has so many models that do the very same thing ... 51x, 55x, etc. The only difference seems to be the battery and the switch placement.

How do we keep all the different models straight? Why are some $300 and some $550?

I'd appreciate a learned person to educated me please.

the 51X series have no night vision capability ( you can't use night vision with the eotech) and the 55X are night vision compatible.
The 511 and 551 use the smaller n batteries. The 512 and 552 use double a batteries.

Still this company has a lot of model numbers that seem to duplicated. They all seem to have the same reticle.

I use the 556 model, and the bullet drop is a joke because it's all fuzzy and you can't place the 'dot' out to 200-300yrds ... you can only guess at where you think your dot/target is in relations to your distance.

I'm not 'persuaded' by this companies products yet.

you're forgetting the 5X3's, 6's and 7's.

Mounting system, NV, button placement, and batteries are the changes.

Reticles are actually noted differently, after the model.

If the dot is "fuzzy," blame your eyes, not the reticle. The first thing you need to do is turn down the brightness.

The BDC was designed to be used in conjunction with a magnifier- it's not really practical for 1X.

Why are there so many makes and models of vehicles? Just read Eotechs product guide. They have a cool "Which Eotech is for You?" Each one does different things but they all have the halographic dot.

uclaplinker's remark is really spot-on. The eotech isn't really a long-range shooting optic. If you want effective bullet drop compensation, mount something with magnification.

I have eotech's on two rifles. I know the point blank range for my zero and don't worry about bullet drop after that.
