The failure rate on them is very high. One reason they are so cheap is there is no QC, parts are not built for durability and they are not designed well. You will have some that preform well and some that give problems right out the box or after a little rough treatment. Many of the lower cost scopes work great if you don't adjust the turrets much and shoot at set distances. They don't track accurate or they don't for long. Try adjusting the elevation and windage turrets up & down for a solid 30 mins a day for a week and see what happens. Those that shoot in competition do this and more several days a week for years with their higher priced scopes.
There is nothing wrong with buying lower cost scopes as long as you don't expect to get much more out of them than you paid. If so in most cases you will be let down.
