Burris, Vortex, Bushnell which one ?

Between the three scopes Burris, Vortex and Bushnell,
    - Same price range $200-$250
    - Same magnified range 12X-14X

    (1) Which one you refer ?
    (2) Or go for difference brand such as: Athlon, Arken, .... or you tell me which one.

    Thank You.

Vortex and Burris has excellent warranty. No questions asked replacement.

Vortex is probably more popular than Burris and easier to find.

I am looking at scopes too. Considering a Sig Buckmaster or Sig Sierra3. Both have versions that can pair up with a range finder which compensate for bullet drop. The Sierra combo will display red dots with the calculation, where as the buckmaster will just tell you where to compensation on the reticle. If shoot 200yds or beyond, it may be worth looking into. I am learning myself.

depends on the use for the firearm. If something serious or hunting then Leupold. If a fun gun then the door is wide open.

I have a Leupold that I bought from a friend. It is 4.5-14x40. Very nice scope. If you can save more pennies, Leupold are well worth it. Excellent customer service and warranty.

You should also add in the cost for mounts and good rings.

All of that stuff is chinese. I'd pick Bushnell because they usually have better value for the dollar. My cheap-@ss Sportview, I think it was called, was none too shabby, and looked a lot better than my friend's cheap Nikon.

I bet Vortex... but I got a SWFA for $259 one year that has great glass for that price. Vortex has or had a Viper 6.5-20x44 that was pretty clear for under $300. Between those it is probably a wash, but the fixed 10x is a lot tougher.

I have a old Diamondback that is 4-12 that existed on a .308 for years and held zero no prob, still works 100%. Probably was $200 or so. Glass was OK.

I like Burris but all mine are low power like 6x, 5x... the 6x was over $300 and I had to send one back that broke for no apparent reason other than how they put it together.

Leupold is definitely worth it... not a 12x but I have a Mark AR 3-9x40 that came with a bonus Leupold mount for $250 on some special years back and it is a really good scope.

Easy answer is Vortex...but also take a good look at Athlons. Doug at CameraLand NY always has good deals and is good to talk to.

You should also tell us what you are using it for and what gun its gonna go on.

In optics, you generally get what you pay for. If your wallet can take a hit now, its better than taking two hits: a cheap scope, and then what you wanted, down the road.

Just giving my experience looking for an optic for my 22LR rifle. One specific task I can expect to do is 25 meter target shooting with reduced size silhouettes. I wanted a magnified optic that had adjustable parallax, and Bushnell Prime was the winner.

I couldn't find a Vortex scope that had parallax adjustment (at least at that time).

I'm super happy with this Bushnell. Maybe you don't need the turret replacements on this one (I don't use them, I just use the standard MOA one). I also love the simple reticle.
