    G43X/48 MOS with Holosun 507k

G43X/48 MOS with a CHPW plate and Holosun 507K X2

Will standard size sights be visible through the optic?

I'm pretty sure you're going to need suppressor sights anytime you mount a red dot on a pistol...or that's been my experience with RMR's and DPP's on Glocks (19, 34, 17, 41).
Too many rifles, not enough time...

With the plate, you'll need higher sights.

          Nope
I have a 43x mos set up that way and the sights will need to be replaced with suppressor height sights to be effectively visible

Just keep in mind seeing iron sights through a RDS window sucks and that they will have a zero of their own and most likely not co witness.

I have read on here that black iron sights are preferable to any colored sights with optics due to dots causing some confusion.

I’ll let you know how it goes on my 43x when I get my slide next week and mount my 507k. On my g19 with rmr I have suppressor sights. They allow me to index and acquire the red dot. Or at least they did when I first started using it. We’ll see on this 43x setup. My wife Carrie’s this gun as well so if she doesn’t like it, it may be short lived all together.

Get suppressor height sights. Cost effective ones would be those from Ameriglo that have 1X to nX heights.

I ran my 45ACP Glock 21SF Gen 3 with a Type 2 RMR 3.25MOA and Ameriglo 1X suppressor sights (NO colored outlines but have Tritium inserts) in a 2-day advanced class ran by active/retired SWAT operators with no impairment to speed/accuracy.

As mentioned in another thread - using RDS, you "target focus." Once you do that, you'll not notice the iron sights. That said, don't really need the iron sights with an RDS - just there for backup (already had an experience when a dot died in a match mid-stage - had to immediately switch to irons).

                  YMMV

Yes, normal sight will be visible in the lower portion of the Holosun.
This is my G48 MOS with the CHPW plate. I love the setup and can use my normal size sights if needed. I have the dot low in the picture, but it is normally in the middle of the holosun. Suppressor height sights would be too tall in my opinion, especially with the small sight window.

I have this setup and no, the sights are not visible in the Holosun's FOV

I agree. And if sight was dead mid glass is gonna be good enough for most occasions on a carry gun especially if you know how to index.

For those interested in a 507K footprint and a closed emitter:

HOLOSUN adds two new optics to the line up. The new Holosun EPS & EPS Carry red dot sights are smaller enclosed red dot sights based on 509T but with different footprint. The new EPS (Enclosed Pistol Sight) and EPS Carry offer the benefits of a fully-enclosed optic like Holosun509T series, but on our popular K footprint with zero distortion. This now gives the user more options for a fully enclosed optic on both Full-Sized pistols and now Slim-Line pistols […]

These will probably sell like hotcakes.
