    I agree some of the present model scopes aren't the quality of the Vari X series I bought in the 1970's & 1980"s .I bought the 100th Year Special Leupold 3x9x40 with metal box,medalion & china made knife that I had to pack up and send in because I couldn't turn the knurled power changer. When Scrade Knives of Ellenville,NY went bankrupt I checked ebay and was able to buy several of their original U.S. made models,now they're made in china and I won't buy china goods period!.

        i have 2 riflemans,
        3x9 on my BAR 7 mag, (the gun im semiretiring)
        4x12 on the BAR .243, a newer one.
        so im a big fan of leupold. (my rangefinder is also leupold)

        i like the idea of a dial for yardage situation.

        so if the target is say 400 yds away, (VERY possible for my canyon to canyon shots) id like to set the scope at 400 and not have to hold over
