Looking for a MRAD scope for a .223 bolt gun, but may go on a .260 R700 in the future with wind holds for @ 650.00. Durability is a high priority. So far I'm about to order a PST Gen II 3-15 FFP MRAD EBR2C. Your help is much appreciated.

how will it be used?

I would save a few $$$ and buy a cheaper vortex.... Chinese Glass or PI glass...

and then save and spend more for Japanese made glass for much more than $650

I want it for future PRS type matches with capabilities of 200-800 but the ability to 1K would be nice.

Yup, from all the research I've done it seems like that's the way to go and that's the reticle I want. I do like the open center on the 2C, but the 2Ds wind holds mil number placement on the right is less distracting to me. Besides I cant say no to double Ds. Part of me wants the higher mag 6-24, but reviews from the peanut gallery is the 3-15 glass quality trumps the higher mag even with both set to the same power. While sending pills past 200 is a pipe dream due time, local ranges limitations and BLM being a good 2 hours away this scope will serve as a good starting point for now.

I've taken my Grendel with SWFA 3-15x scope out to 600 yards easily. You'll be pretty happy with the range. It wasn't that long ago that 3-9x was considered "enough".

I have a 3-9 & a 10X SWFA, and they're great for the money. For this build I want something with wind holds. I'm want to see if the Christmas tree reticle is too busy since my ultimate scope is an SB with a horus reticle.

I think anything you find that might be better or cheaper than that Vortex, will be tiny incremental improvements at best. Plus, when you're ready for that $3500 scope it'll be easier to sell.

Why a .260? That's like 10 years ago's news. Even the 6.5 Creedmoor is better and that's obsolete in PRS now.

I have a Burris Eliminator III 16x50mm I no longer use if you have any interest in an integrated range finder & ballistics computer "point and shoot" scope.

Can't beat it for point & shoot when hunting at medium range or just showing off at the range...

I had a Vortex PST Gen 1. I like Vortex. Great scopes. However, I was NOT IMPRESSED with the PST line. I'd stay away, personally.

You could probably get it rechambered but it will still be a 6.5 and it might cost so much that it's not worth it. .260 isn't horrible, Frank Galli seems to like it. It just won't be competitive, but if you mostly just want to have fun, it doesn't matter if it's competitive.
