Red dot on g19 sight picture and zero help?

Im using a 507c on a Brownells slide with trijicon suppressor sights on my g19. This is my firsts pistol red dot set up. However, im having trouble zeroing this. And i dont know if my sight picture is correct. I was shooting about 3 inches low at 10 yards. So i adjusted my dot, which raised my point of impact, but how should my sight picture be? If i look through my sights as if i am using them, the dot is well below the front sight--and if i just focus on the dot, it places it in the way lower 3rd. On the other hand, If i put the dot on target while being in the middle of the glass, or raising my head a little, my front sight is then way raised...if that makes sense. Any guidance is appreciated. I tried taking pics to explain what i see.

In the first pic, the dot is actually fully below the front sight where you can see the top of the post.

Zeroing your red dot will more than likely not co whitness with your irons. Zeroing at 10/50 yards is the best zero for a 9mm.

The dot actually will co-witness with the iron sight if you are using the iron sights.

HOWEVER, it doesn't matter where the dot is relative to the lens. It doesn't matter where the dot is relative to the front sight. Just zero the dot to the distance that you want your zero to be at. Don't worry about the science involve on how it works, it's just magic. If you want to be totally confused, go read up on collimating lenses.

Forget the co-witnessing. Assume a natural point of aim, locate the dot, aim and take your shot. Adjust according to where your shots land on the target.

          What distance were you zeroing?

Remember, your red dot is mounted further (higher) from your bore than your iron sights. You're always going to have a discrepancy between the two except at the exact distance you zeroed.
