I would go with a 20 MOA base.

If you have a good scope with decent elevation... you can reach 1K with a 6.5 CM and no issues...

the 20 MOA just provides more utility... to me...

if you were maxing at 1000 your scope will probably have plenty of elevation and for 600 my .308 only needs ~4.5, but it wouldn't hurt to have a bit more in case you decide to shoot farther out with the 6.5 so 20 moa is not a bad idea.

Going 20 MOA will give you more flexibility if you decide to shoot further distances. If you have no plans in swapping optics, I'd just stick to a good set non-QD mounts. This will save you money and weight. If you don't care about the cant you can save more weight and cost by just going with some good rings. Anything from Seekins, Badger Ordance and the like will give you what you want for rings in the $200 range. If you're going with a unimount, expect to pay a bit more, closer to $300+ unless you shop around for the best price.

IMHO the Night Force 34mm 1.54 unimount is a great mount for an AR10 and can be found like new for @ 150.00. It will rezero like the Giselle SP or BO mounts.

As far as cant, buy a mount where you'll spend most of your shooting. At 600 0moa cant is what you want. The reason "Not to buy" a mount with built in cant just to have it just in case is the clearest portion of your scope's glass is in the center. Adding unnecessary cant at a distance that it is not needed means you'll be using the outer portion of the glass that may not be as sharp vs the center.

While your description of this issue is accurate, a 20MOA mount isn't going to have a significant effect on the optical performance of the Vortex Razor the OP is using. Quality optics avoid a lot of issues that may be more pronounced in budget optics.

I have 20MOA mounts on nearly all of my rifles with magnified optics (5.56, 6.5 Grendel, 6.5 Creedmoor) and have never noticed any ill effects on optical performance in my scopes - none of which have glass as good as the Vortex Razor line (SWFA, Leupold, Bushnell, Athlon). 20 MOA helps at long range, and won't hurt at short to mid range.

With all that being said, with a 6.5 Creedmoor, a 20 MOA scope probably isn't needed unless you shoot beyond 1000 yards, but it could help you stay near the optical center at longer ranges. You basically have to decide whether you're OK being off the optical center at long range (standard mount) or off the center at short range (canted mount). Since long range shots benefit more from being in the "optical center", I prefer a 20 MOA mount for anything that might be used for mid to long range shooting.

Thanks to all the replies guys! I ended up getting a JP 34mm 0moa. I'll be shooting lots of 200 to 600 yards and hopefully soon I'll be ready for a 1000 yards..
