    Super Sniper Scope?

I glommed a scope at a recent estate sale. I was primarily interested in the rings (A.R.M.S. quick release), but the scope is actually fairly nice.

The question is: what is this scope? There is no manufacturer or specifications (power, lense size, etc) marked anywhere on the scope. I think , based on comparison to a 6-24 scope, that it is about 10 power.

It bears a lot of similarities to the SWFA SS scope, but has no SSFA markings. It does have a "Kenko Japan" sticker on it.

    What do you guys think?

Glass looks good, mildot reticle, and a 30mm tube.

looks like an early SWFA fixed power scope. it most likely is 10x. how much did you get it for? they are great scopes.

Bummer about those scratches. Someone sure screwed it up, trying to move the mounts around w/o relieving the torque enough on the rings.

If there's a bright side, at least now there would be no hesitation to paint the scope, should some other color scheme strike your fancy.

Does the Bottom of the scope have its brand and model engraved? Looks like a SWFA SUper Sniper. I have one and didn’t notice the engraved make and model till recently.

                            Original Super Sniper

The original Super Sniper scopes were not marked with a manufacturer. IIRC, Tasco contracted with a Japanese optics manufacturer to create a scope in response to an RFP from the US Navy for use on rifles up to 50cal. This run of scopes was assigned an NSN number but the scope was not selected for service. Apparently, whatever was left over from this batch of scopes was sold by SWFA. This was around 1999-2001 or so and when this batch ran out but the demand was still there, SWFA contracted with the Japanese manufacturer to make more, but with some adjustments to the original design. This is when the SWFA "Super Sniper" marked scopes began. The original scope is a fixed 10x, with a rear parallax model (like yours) and a model with side parallax. Both featured 1/4" moa click adjustments with a mildot reticle. I think the 10x side parallax sold for 399 and the rear parallax sold for 329, or somewhere around that.

I still have my side parallax from this original batch and it is a good solid scope for the money. Clicks are mushy but optics are clear and it is a reliable scope.

Yeah, but they are very shallow scratches.
