I run a red dot on mine. It's a Holosun 515. It works well and is about all you really need. I also run Daniel Defense Irons sights, front and rear, and it does well for 200 and in for quick hits.

I've got a holosun 510 on mine, with lower 1/3. Debating a vortex crossfire red dot, seems to be a slammer profile. Also have DD fixed rear and fsp.

SIG Romeo5 on a high mount. If you’re the kind of person who is concerned about legal trouble on the horizon, keep in mind that the ATF appears to be considering adopting the “whole gun” (or contextual) philosophy on pistols. This means that they may consider an A.R. pistol as an unregistered SBR if, among other indicators, you cannot see well through the optic unless shouldering the brace.

I know you said you’re not looking for a scope, but seeing how we have so many new members, I thought it would be appropriate to add some depth to the discussion for others.

Holosun 510c on both of mine. Soon to be SBRs (waiting for form 1s).

I have a 1x cyclops by primary arms for sale in the marketplace..... seems perfect for your fine ar pistol.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Seems like people putting 1-4x optics on AR pistols with braces are basically using them like SBRs.

Especially in free states where its almost mandatory to add a suppressor as well.

If youre looking for a decent red dot, I've had good luck with the Romeo 5. But I also use backup sights in case it fails. I do not have an AR pistol so dont know what sight set up work best for that purpose but I dont think it would be that different than sights on a carbine.

I mean either you want some type of sight or no sights. I dont think you want to go without sights unless you live in Chicago.

Primary Arms red dot. Acquiring target with both eyes open with a cheek weld is really fast.
Those acting in the public interest assume obligations of accountability and transparency. Retroactively redefining goals while claiming yet refusing to disclose some "master plan" is just the opposite. So is viciously trashing anyone who questions your judgment. -navyinrwanda

So I ended up with a Romeo 5. $143 with the vet discount plus tax and $10 shipping. Primary Arms had it in stock.

Good choice especially at the price point but only if you dont have an astigmatism. I can't use red dots but with my Holosun 509T on a Scalarworks 1/3 mount, the circle with the dot reticle is clear. If I switch to just the red dot reticle, its a starburst.

                              Thank you for your service.
