Precision Long Range scope 900 bucks.

Weird question: how do you store / transport you’re rifle? I put the scope on it, won’t fit in my safe. So looking for option that’ll protect the scope / zero

I don't think there's a perfect solution, but a one piece mount will get you pretty close. I used the following technique for a number of years with pretty good success.

At that time i had 2 long range rifles and only one scope. In an effort to share the scope i mounted it in a one piece mount (both rings are fixed on the single mount).

I also marked the front and rear of my optics rail with nail polish establishing the optimal position for the scope.

In this way i could remove the scope and mount as a single unit...and i could replace it very close to where it should be without much fuss (the mount always settled in the same picatinny rail slot).

I quickly learned the turret setting adjustments needed for the 2 individual rifles (they were pretty close to the same at least in my case). When i got to the range i always rechecked my zero and called those couple of shots my fouling shots....It was always pretty darn close.

The mount i have is a quick release type from American Defense (there are many good brands to choose from nowadays). I'm not sure you have to pay extra for the quick release feature as it's not a big deal to torque down the large securing nuts that are found in most mounts. It's always good to check your torque settings anyway each time you go to the range so i didn't find it to be of significant effort.

What kind of blemish was it? A ring mark?

No, not even that. A slightly darker spot on the tube. The scope looked worse after getting used, that's how insignificant the blems were. Unnoticeable almost.
