    Holosun 510c vs Eotech XPS2

Hope everyone is having a good holiday season. I know there are a few threads comparing these two units but my question is specific to lens tint. All of the videos and website comparisons show that there's quite a bit more lens tint with the holosun than the Eotech. For those of you who have both, is the lens tint noticeably different?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I owned an XPS2 for a couple years that had no noticeable tint to my eye. My brother has a Holosun that has a slight tint, but it hasn't bothered either of us during our typical shooting during the day in the desert - your mileage may vary. No side by side comparison, since I sold the EOTech years ago, but if clarity is your goal I'd say EOTech wins.

Hmmm...let me get them out to compare.

On a side note, you need to buy a riser for the 510c since it's not high enough with the standard mount.

One is a holographic and one is a red dot. One is mil grade. One has good enough quality glass to use with NODS if you had the EXPS3... the other washes out and it barely visible.

In daylight, probably not a big deal unless the HS stops working randomly because of crappy cheap electronics or solder.

        IMHO.

FWIW, I have two Holosun and Two EOtech. One EOtech is a new XPS2 and the other is a Bushnell made by EOtech from the 90's that still works like new... I've sent HS's back for electronics failures. YMMV. I think import optics approaching the cost of high quality USA or Swedish optics are not attractive at all. Chinese imports are attractive when they are super high quality for 1/10th the cost.

There's absolutely ZERO tint with Eotech since it's a holographic optic. It's like looking through clear glass. Since the Holosun uses an LED emitter, it requires a coating on the lens to reflect the dot back to your eye.

For comparison, my 510C has less tint than my new Trijicon MRO. It has the same amount of tint as my older Aimpoint T-1.

Was just about to post this, I have both and looking side by side the Eotech has absolutely no tint, and it's holographic. I also have MRO and Aimpoint Pro and Holosun has less tint than MRO but more than the Aimpoint.

This is really random and I don’t want to bash a company over one experience. I wanted an eotech and decided to go with the holosun 510c to save some cash. The holosun scope was broken new in box. I got a refund and spent the extra cash and got an eotech and have been quite pleased with it.

I prefer my Holosun 512 over the Eotech. I prefer the crisp LED reticle over the holographic fuzzy one, plus you can change to reticle pattern on the 512 and has more features.

                      Is tint a bad thing?

Anyone know where you can get a 510C for less than $300? I can't find them on sale anywhere.

Covid has done a number on the China supply train for those Holosuns so you're gonna have to wait.

No way I'm paying $300 bucks for a Holosun when a Eotech is not far off in price.
