The Trijicon ECOS cost about $300 to replace the tritium but if it's before 10 years it's free. Cheaper for non ECOS model Acogs.

Turnaround time is 14-28 days right now.

You can also change your reticle and color if you want. They will make the determination though if it's free and what's covered.

If it's a military optic they will let you know and won't warranty it. However they will cover it if it goes back to the military unit and they send it in.

I wouldn't send it in. Plus military LE is sometimes notified. You may have to surrender it.

@Endless: thanks for the info. Very helpful. Doesn’t seem to be military as I believe they use the RCO-M4 model. Doesn’t have the markings of the RCO so hopefully I get it back. That would be cool to change reticle color. Kinda like the green more than red. Sent it out yesterday with fingers crossed it all goes smooth and fast.

No problem. If they offer the change and you want it go for it. I have changed colors and reticles.

Yours should be fine. Doesn't sound like military.

I just wish Elcan specter DRs came with a green color option for military or civilian models.

That is nice they do that. On other optics, like the Mepro 21 - they will not replace the tritium

Update: Got an email from Trijicon Service Dept. yesterday with a diagnosis and bill if I wanted the work done. With adjustment and illumination tuneup/ replacement, came out to $300. Not too bad and they let me switch to green tritium at no extra charge which was pretty cool. Looks like it was government owned at once. No confiscation. Said it was “government sold” so the warranty didn’t carry over. Probably would’ve been free if I had warranty card in my name but oh well. Not too bad considering it will be like new and I got it pretty cheap for ACOG prices.
