I could see that. BTW, are these reticles used on a sight small enough to use on a handgun.

Regarding the circle generally, it's meant to be a combat sight. So if you're not using it to estimate ranges on human males, then yep, it's probably not as helpful to some. I would say that's more true with the Holosun sights and their 2 MOA dot, which is very easy to pick up. (Guess I'm repeating myself at this point.)

If you are ok trying a prism sight, I really like the swampfox blade. Fantastic cab optic.

Wow that thing's a brick. I'd not heard of it before. Same price and almost the same weight as the PA 3x Prism sight. Interesting features and reticle though. I think they picked a logo that's a little too similar to the Vortex "V". I wonder what that's about.

Here is a pic that answers a question I was just about to ask: How does the reticle compare the PA Cyclops? Here it looks like the Swampfox "Mohawk" (did the name change?) reticle kicks the crap out of the Cyclops! I have a Cyclops and like many, I feel the horseshoe and chevron are just too damned small:

So for most of my 20+ years of shooting I have been an Aimpoint guy (T1 or Pro).

As I got older I found astigmatism annoying me. Also my wife started training more with rifles and noticed she would not always remember holdovers under quick aiming conditions. After trying a few optics we settled on the blade. Actually really like it and it isnt noticeably porky unlike a lvpo and mount

Yeah, looking at that pic above, the Blade/Mohawk sure doesn't appear any larger than the Cyclops. I'd almost say smaller in fact, since it does not have the big illumination knob on the left side.

I'm sure the Cyclops will get a re-design at some point. Currently it's still quite usable since targets are easy to center up in the little horseshoe. And fine targets can be placed in the view atop that slightly blurry little chevron. (Even wearing my corrective glasses it's still a tiny little thing that's hard to maintain clarity on.

I want to find some pics of the Blade, looking through it w/o illumination on a sunny day. Just to get an idea of the chevron in that condition.

Oh and the Blade reticule works with any caliber at 15, 10 and 5 yards as long as ar style bore over sight.

Tested on multiple friends mp15-22, sig mpx, and 9mm ar pcc

It is officially the blade now. The mohawk will be a 1.5x I think next year. Blade is smaller than cyclops but bigger reticule. Blade has also been tough. I have been abusing one of our 4 to see how it holds up (drops, banging in training, etc)

If you like fixed magnification the trihawk is coming out. 3x. The fov is insane vs pa prisms and
better than acog.

I have no ties to the company jsut having used a ton of optics, I gave this company a shot and love almost all their products. I may replace a blade on a rifle with a PA 2x glx though to give one of my wifes rifles some magnification

I'm a little confused. "It's officially the Blade now." Are you saying it was once called Mohawk and has now be renamed the Blade, with the Mohawk name being repurposed for a future 1.5x sight?

I was looking at their site. The variable optics look interesting too. I wonder how well the turrets track.

I like the reticle with its tiny center dot. I just saw that they are producing a Gen 3 version with a different "5.56" reticle. It's got a larger chevron at the center. Pretty cool. I don't know if I would prefer it over the little dot though. Kind of hard to go wrong with a dot, assuming a hold-over isn't needed.

I tried the PA 2x when it came out and I couldn't stand how small the center chevron was. It was like the cyclops, WAY too small to be used quickly.

Its a shame cause I love the ACSS reticle on the 1-6x scopes.

Thanks. And I did stumble across that torture test at one point yesterday. The guy pretty much destroyed the scope and the rifle it was on. LOL They bolt still *barely* worked though.

Haha yeah it is amazing how durable their optics are. I actually switched from an aimpoint pro to blade for one of my rifles. A backup rifle has a blade that has been dropped, tossed on top of other guns, banged against baricades, etc

Still going strong on the blade getting abused. Around 1.4k rounds now
