Help me pick a scope!

Okay, I am getting Fulton Armory Titan soon... just as soon as my dirtbike sells. I need to get a damn scope for this thing. I dont know what power to get on it though. It will have a 20" barrel, .308 cal. I will mostly be shooting off a bench, but this will be my SHTF precision rifle. I want to be able to hit from 100 to 1000 yards with it, but I am thinking empazing 300 to 1000 yards. What power scope and whats a good quality brand?

Also I remember reading a post about someone marking come up's in red on a leupold and i thought it was cool markings on the turret. Anyone know where that thread is or what the scope model was? I really liked how every ten moa had a line under the turret that is revealed. That way you can keep track of your clicks

What's your budget? That's pretty critical for the type of shooting you're talking about.

Well, lets say I will be saving up for it. My budget would then be what ever it cost to do it right, no cheap crap that I'll regret, but no fancy crap that I'll never need.

how much internal adjustment will a .308 need to hit 1000 yards?

20" barrel to 1000 yards...
doable but you'll have to load those puppies HOT!
i have a few leupolds that i like, but honestly i've been researching nightforce and possibly US optics for my next scope. Although i love my leupolds, i'm hearing too much bad stuff about them as of late.

Nightfoce 3-15X is a good choice. I prefer an NPR1 Reticle.

Whatever you choose..make sure your adjustment match the reticle...ie. mil/mil or moa/moa.

As for a 20" gas gun making it out to 1K...you would have to load em hot and make sure the temps were high. Gotta get a 175gn SMK going 2600 FPS to make it out to 1K. 2650 to be safe.

I own both NightForce and Horus Vision Scopes, both are excellent choices .Here are a few others I saw that someone posted that might interest you .Just checked out eurooptic and they have some Zeiss used/demo scopes that may fit your bill

1)Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10X44 Matte Target Turret #58 ZRF Reticle.
New in box. Normal price $850. Zeiss Lifetime warranty. $600.00

2)Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50 Matte Zplex. Used in very good condition. Light ring marks and small scratch on the objective housing, very minor. $675

3)Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50 MC Matte Mildot. Scope is like new but box is in poor condition. $775.00

Best to get a 24" barrel to safely reach 1000 yards. 15x or 18x mag would be the ideal mag.

I seriously am tired of reading of 22" or 26" needed to get to 1000 when I read that the differences in velocity are minimal. Its barely a loss to go 20. 1000 will be fine since its the EDGE of what I expect from my rifle.

Get a scope that has a least 80 moa total elevation adj. With a 20 moa base you will have no problem reaching 1000.
