        low
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

            Yep.

If you're really not sure, contact Leupold.

Be sure to get steel rings. Leupold has nice sets that won't break the bank.

Appreciate the help guys. I ended up ordering the, “ Leupold Permanent Weaver-Style Cross-Slot Scope 1” Steel Low Rings”. Hopefully those will work out alright. Do you guys recommend lapping those rings or do you think they should be good to go?

Take it over to the Shootist in Murrieta. They will let you help you soft fit for free. Just buy the rings from them.

I would bed the base before lapping the rings. If your base is tweaked and you go ahead lap your rings then you just ruined the rings if you decide to use your setup on another rifle. It's real easy to bed the base and not have to use a special tool to bed the base. Search YouTube how to and you'll find videos on how to check your base to receiver fit.

Leopold does not recommend lapping rings and on their old cast have said they see more problems after the rings have been lapped.

I would do this especially with the Remington 700.

I now lap my rings and have never had a problem with any brand. I have found that many really show that they are not straight after lapping. Just mounted a new Leupold on a set of old Redfield rings(now they are leupold brand) and glad I did.

When I mount a set up its there for keeps and after a few messed up scopes after doing the torque down I now lap every set of rings, have actually done towards a hundred sets for friends and referals. Not worth not doing on a high end optic, rings / bases are cheap.
Oh no, not another 1911 !

Those are the exact rings I have for my Leupold scope. My good friend, who has the mandrel and rouge helped me lap them. They are nice rings, and once lapped and torqued to spec, my scope holds zero, and absolutely no movement.

The package should have the instructions for mounting the rings and torque-ing them.

Well with DROS taking forever I guess I’ll have time to look for some lapping tools I guess. Is there any cheap way of doing that without buying A hole lapping set? Don’t plan on doing a lot of lapping in my future. Hate to buy all the crap for a one time deal. Guess I’ll YouTube it and see what is out there.
