It is only 10 years and only covers defective products.
Compared to Leupold which is lifetime, transferable, no questions asked for everything except electronics. Also, designed, machined, assembled in the good old USA.
Vortex is similar to Leupold.Comment

I always thought NF warranty was lifetime, transferable with the EXCEPTION of their MIL-SPEC line that has a 10 year warranty.
The MIL-SPEC line was specifically for military contract use and the scopes are built different.
If it truly is 10 years for their normal line, I'd like to know myself.Comment

That is correct

It was 10 years on the two LPVO scopes I looked at recently. It was part of the reason I went with the Mark 6 instead of the NX8 or ATACR.I always thought NF warranty was lifetime, transferable with the EXCEPTION of their MIL-SPEC line that has a 10 year warranty.

You may be right about their other scopes. Still seems like a shiester move for scopes that are well above $1K in price. Especially when others offer lifetime full coverage on their whole line.Comment

Chuck,
Just for clarification this was just taken from the 1-8 NX8 manual and you also see some of the information on the box when you open it with the 1-8 ATACR below.

I hope that helps
Holy moly, sorry for the pic size

Thanks for the clarification CS, on several of the online stores the warranty was listed at 10 years.
I'll take it back, their warranty doesn't suck, but still not as good as Loopy.Comment

Leupold is the warranty that vortex copied. No better or worse. Vortex has nothing on Leupold.
I have 2 Nightforce scopes and they have lifetime warranty. They are the NXS models and sit on 50BMG rifles.
I am a huge fan of Leupold but the Nightforce scopes are like Leupolds on steroids.
Leupold or Nightforce scopes hold up better than the "European" brands and give up nothing in glass when comparing like price point scopes.
I have spoke with a number of African PH's and such and they prefer people to have a leupold since they have seen the European brands crash but not so for the Leupolds. In fact my outfitter/PH had me bring a couple of Leupold scopes over for them on my last trip. The European binos fare better than their scopes. They really like Leupold scopes in Africa and for good reason.
And before old Chucky Drizzle can take a slap I will say he is shooting off his mouth again as if he is the final say when he knows not what he is talking about. Again and quite normal for him. He just like to argue and hear himself shouting down everyone else who does not think(?) like him.
Leupold is excellent and with the 1st lifetime warranty as I remember. Was so back in the 1960's when they were competing against Redfield for the market. Redfield folded and much later the name was bought by Leupold so they could have a cheaper line of scopes to compete with vortex/Nikon/Bushnell and such. I believe they stopped making the Redfields now that they came out with their own cheaper line. The Leupold made Redfields also had the lifetime warranty. So Leupold had that warranty before vortex and such was even making scopes. The European scopes were around but had reticles we did not like for the most part and they did NOT have sealed tubes with gas purging. Add to the fact they were costly and they did not do well. Later they used duplex reticles and such and had sealed purged tubes so they gained a market share here.
Nightforce scopes are great and if you can buy them worth it. I put only Leupold scopes on any hunting or serious rifle besides my 50BMG. I did have a cheaper Leupold on one of the 50's before I got my Nightforce which was on a 6 month backorder. I still use it on a different rifle. Fun guns and fair weather guns can have a bunch of different brands on them for me.
That is my 2 cents and only post on this thread. If you disagree then fine it is your opinion and you are entitled to it. This is mine with many years of experience and also many years with dealing with lots of brands of scope.
To be honest I went right for a European brad of binos and they are excellent. Great glass but they do not get the beating a scope gets.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

The glass is very nice, but not the best. I run a Nightforce BEAST on a Desert Tech SRS-A1 and it is a match made in heaven. They are lighter than the Vortex Razor Gen ii. What makes Nightforce so great is because they are built like a tank. You can beat someone to death with it, pop it back on your rifle and nothing changed.
I love Nightforce products and customer support. Money well spent.
