Nightforce Optics - thoughts?

A local shop in OC is thinking about doing a buy in with Nightforce Optics and was wondering if I'd be interested in something from them for a discounted price to help them with the buy-in.

Just wondering if anyone's had experience with the product line and what their thoughts were. I know they're not cheap, so I don't feel like throwing away hard earned money....

Haven't put any thought into what I'd be using it for yet. Don't want to waste time researching if they're not worth it.

Like others have said, some of the best riflescopes money can buy. The ATACR line can compete with any of the world's best.

Quality product that holds its value on the secondary for sure.

Arguably one of the toughest scopes you can buy. If you need a scope with great glass for a rifle thats going to get beat, this is the way to go.

2nd best

European glass is best, then Asian. Not bashing, I put one on my winmag but it's still a tier 2 scope compared to say Swarovski.

I have an NXS 2.5-10x42 compact that's just awesome. Worth every penny even if you have to pay full price (which I didn't) heh...

Isn’t the ATACR line US made? Is the glass made in Japan?

If the group buy open to non-locals? I’m interested in a 4th one. Good stuff.

NF is very good. Optics are pretty good but not on the same level as the European glass as BC9696 pointed out.

I enjoy mine, only gripe I really have is that the eye piece moves withe magnification, so it makes using BC caps difficult.

I really want to pick up a NX8 in the near future..

After 2 months of waiting, I finally have the 35x ATACR with the Mil-XT reticle in my hands.

I cannot thank Tyler at EuroOptic enough.

Not going to lie though. I've grown quite fond of the 27x Razor G2 that I bought as a place holder while I waited for the NF. Especially the locking turrets.

Nightforce makes premium optics that are very rugged, there's many tiers of Nightforce and the 7-35 F1 ATACR (for example) is actually a Japanese made scope that can compete with scopes made anywhere in the world. And I say this as a vendor who carries many high end brands made all over the world
