9P is just a longer body (3 cell) than 6P but all other external parts should be interchangeable.

I just got possesion of the least expensive and the brightest Drop-in you can purchase for the money. I purchased this P60 drop-in MC-E and the mailman dropped it off today. It is the best bang for the buck.....

Comparing it to my MC-E Direct drive 800 to 1000 lumens and my P60 P7 700 Lumens, this Deal Extreme P60 MC-E drop-in is no less bright. Really, I think the output is equal to my P7 P60 handmade at a fraction of the cost.


The Deal Extreme does have a Cree ring and some artifacts, but the average person probably will not even notice it. At $23 dollars you get minumun 400 lumens, it is likely over 500 out the front. This P60 MC-E drop-in can only be used in Surefire G2, 6P, G2z, Z2 combat light ect... You can't run 2 batteries. It will only work on a single battery, that is why I said you need to purchase the 17670 battery (takes the room of 2 cr123 batteries). The $23 dollar P60 MC-E is the one in the middle. You have to remove the springs to make it the 6P head fit flush in your Surefire 6P. If you wrap the circumference of the module in aluminum foil it will help with heat a great deal.

Some drop-ins are only rated to 6-7 volts and will only work in 2 cell CR123 lights, while others are rated to 9-10 volts and will work in 3 cell versions.

The trend is to work in either, but you want to check before you buy, or you may get a fast, very bright flash, then a dim purple glow, then nothing...

I got this from a fellow member at Candlepowerforum. It list all the P60 typd LED drop-ins That will fit any Surefire P60 type flashlight.

Just keep in mind that you choose the LED P60 type based on the quantity of batteries you have or plan on using.

If you have non-rechargeable cr123 batteries; each battery (cell) has 3v. In a Surefire 9P only use LED's designed up to 9v. If you put a Malkoff M60 it will be perfect because the Malkoff is good for up to 9v.

If you plan on using rechargeable cr123 3.7v. They actually measure fully charged 4.2v. So, if you stuck 3 of them in a Surefire 9P the LED would need to sustain at least 12.6v. Ex: If you put a Malkoff M60 in this set-up the LED will die because like I said earlier it can only handle 9v and you are killing it with anything more.


Just decide the type of cells (batteries) you will be using, then choose an LED that can handle the voltage. There are some Cree R2's that say 3.7v to 18v to cover all their bases.

Does Deal Extreme offer a LED Conversion for Surefire "E" Series Flashlights?

Their site is a bit overwhelming. Has anyone noticed or tried a Deal Extreme LED conversion for the "E" Series flashlights. Specifically, the E2e.

While I'm here, I just want to say that I love my E2e. I would really like a bit more burn time. I could use the bulb assembly from the Outdoorsman but if I'm going to invest money I'd really rather put it toward a LED conversion. Anyone?

Curently there is no LED drop-in for the E series lights. There are plenty of custom options, but the 2 easy ways are:

1. Get a TnC Products E to C adaptor. I purchased mine for $27 dollars here:

This piece allows you to put any 6P, G2, 9P, bezel on any E series light. Then you can put any P60 drop-in. This is what I do.



2. The other way is to purchase an LED bezel like the one the E1b, E2DL, E1L, ect... or some of TNVC LED bezels.

but then you are stuck with that set-up. With the E to C adaptor you can swap LED's That are P60 compatilble. I like variety and price. If you do not own a 6P bezel then purchase a Solarforce Bezel $8 at Lighhound and the UCL lens is $7. This set-up is actually allowing more light out the front then even the real Surefire 6P bezel. You pay less and get more lumens. The quality of Surefire is better, but you will not notice unless you are a flashlight fanatic.

The Surefire M3 Combat light uses the same lamp as the KT-1, KT-2, and Surefire M6. The only drop-in applications are incandescent ones, but you can only use IMR16340 rechargeable batteries or 3 non-rechargeables.
I purchased 3 of these IMR 16340 to run the IMR 700 lumen lamp.

I normally would say no ebay LED period, but since you have a combat light and will be limited.... There is an Ebay version circulating that offers you the complete bezel with a quad emitter. I have not read any reviews about it.

There are plenty of Custom Builders in the Flashlight forum who will make the bezel you have into an LED, but expect long wait time and 200 to 500 dollars minimun for the flashlight job. Some of these LED jobs reach into 1k territory.
