If you're tired of the battery issue, skip it entirely and grab yourself a Trijicon Reflex sight or one of their dual powered RMRs or the Meprolight M21. All of those are powered by fiber optics and backed by tritium, lit reticles for all occasions.

Eotechs are for folks or agencies on a budget and don’t have a lot of money to spend on an optic. This is known and has been known for decades. Not really a big deal but it’s 100% fact.

The real issue is Eotech has or had quality control issues. Again this is known but local police and military units still use them. We moved to Trijicon and never looked back.

I tried them out about 8 years ago and they worked about average. They look awful but for the $300 price I was willing to give Eotech a try. I ended up with two of them and they lasted about a year.

I can tell you Aimpoint is superior in every aspect to your Eotech optics. There are clones that really have issues on real firearms and they are intended for airsoft. But folks try to use them on real firearms. Not a good idea. I would wipe your hands with Eotech and move forward.

Look at Aimpoint, Trijicon or Sig optics. Prices are little bit more but the quality is superior to Eotech.

...Want a sight that will be reliable no matter what but still compact for tactical use. Prefer something that can work without batteries...Suggestions?

Prismatic Sight or Low Power Variable Optic for no battery required...LPVO probably isn't "compact" though
