EOTech Crap...I'm Done!

Bought a Rem R25 w/ EOTech holo sight with magnifier and the damn thing never works. The holograph works sometimes but never when I need it to. Already did the battery contacts replacement thing, been to three gun shops...seems to work fine but then it shuts off after firing one round or racking a cartridge manually. Sick to death of this schit. Want a sight that will be reliable no matter what but still compact for tactical use. Prefer something that can work without batteries. And yes, I did put a flip up iron sight on the gun. Suggestions?

Not to be an a**hole, but are you sure it is a real EOTech? I have had/seen chinese knock offs that behave similarly. I am guessing that if you have had it a several shops someone would have told you it was a fake if it wasn't real.

See if you can still get in on the recall/buy-back.
I had a brand new model that actually shifted zero under temperature variation, and they made good on it.

Can you post a picture showing the reticle? Also, is there an NV button? What happens when you press it?

I actually traded a prism scope for an eotech and it was acting up. I couldn't see the reticle in sunlight. Emailed eotech and they replaced it.


. I love that reticle and decided to use it for a 300 Blkout build

I swore off eotechs after mine crapped out from two light range sessions. they sold defective products for years knew it and wouldn't back them up. never again.

My EOTech never worked right in the 4 years I had it.. To their credit, they did device the unit after it was out of warranty. Still, it never worked when I needed it to. After 4-years and 0-rounds fired I sent it in on the buy-back and used the refund to buy a Leupold tactical prismatic. The Leupold has an etched reticle an works with or without a battery.

not to jump on the Aimpoint band wagon, but there is a reason everything on the market is compared to them, regardless of red dot or holographic.

Battery life is Aimpoint's strength. EoTech strength is how easy it is to pick up the reticle.

Just matters what is important to you.

I understand the issue people have with Eotech's ethics, they're lowlives that knowingly lied to our men and woman who put their lives on the line. It may or may not have contributed to unnecessary deaths and we'll never know, but just the possibility is bad enough.
I won't be spending anymore money on Eotech but I still have a Eotech that I got before I found out about their debacle. I didn't bother turning it in for either of the buybacks because I like the recticle and I've shot it on the same rifle in 40 degree weather and 110 degree weather and no problems. My recent shooting trip I let a girl shoot my rifle and she happened to drop my rifle on the cement ground and it landed on the Eotech. It still worked fine and held zero.
