Asking the military to engineer anything is a pretty big ask. I'd say keep it to the private sector.

Fiscally speaking, this just makes sense.

Much like outsourcing and accepting bids from lockheed, North American, Boeing and so on.
The private sector (read: capitalism) will offer a better productand more choices than an in house effort to design.

Same goles for firearms, boots, skivvies and so on.

Would be nice if they didn't choose the lowest bid per unit tho ...

Keymod bashing is everywhere, even on the Youtubes. Mlok is more Milspec. Milspec is everything. Don't risk the lives of your family on Keymod. It self-destructs.
