Brilliant! Never thought of playing cards. Wish I knew about that 4 or 5 scopes ago! Thanks!

If the bottom of your scope turret has a flat spot, you make it parallel to the top of your mount.

The cards or gauges are used to do so by sliding them between the scope and mount.

That said, with a QD mount like you have, I'll bet the store could mount your scope on any rifle & it'll be very close once you move it to your rifle. Larue holds a zero when I RR from it my rifle.

If it's a QD mount you don't even need a rifle to do it.

I have always just used two bubble levels or as someone suggested two smart phones with a level app. I put one on the top turret and one on the receiver and match them up. Then torque to spec.

The Optic Leveler is an inexpensive, easy-to-use tool for leveling scopes mounted in rings or one-piece mounts.

This thing's great, although it won't work with everything (ex: Bobro mounts in general, Larue mounts with optics that have over-sized adjustment bells).

In your situation the scope needs to be level in your scope mount. After its mounted level in your mount then you can attach it to the top of your pic rail.

Just got a new scope for mr AR. Mounting it to a larue QD mount. I do not have a gun vise to get my rifle level, nor do I have any means of getting the scope perfectly level.

Looking for some tips on how to get the sucker level and install the scope correctly. Im in San Jose, and if anyone would be willing to show me how, or has the equipment and would be willing to help, that would be greatly appreciated, and I would compensate for the help too.
You don't need to spend a fortune. Two small bubble levels and some shooting bags. One bubble level on the pic rail and one on top of the turret. When they both level them gently snug up the rings.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

It's surprising how level the eye can be on optics

                                Mount the scope
Leave rings a litt bit lols to slide the scope forward and backward for eye relief

Get it where it looks correct

                                Tighten rings
And watch your bullets dump left or right at distance because the scope is canted.
Mount it using feeler gauges as discussed in previous posts.
