I am looking into these other brands. Still trying to figure out if the 20MOA will still allow me to zero out at 100 yards.

As far as taking the scope on and off, I'm not sure if that is or isn't the plan yet. I just figure if going with a high end mount and it has them, then I have the choice. i don't know if its a bad thing other than a few more dollars right?

Yes, you should still have your 100 yard zero. All the 6-24 PSTs I have seen were fine with a 20 MOA base. There should still be a little slack at the bottom even with 20 MOA.

I have a Viper PST 6-24x50 sitting on a 20MOA mount for my Savage 338 Lapua... it will zero just fine. (Plenty of elevation to get to 1000, but plan on upgrading)

Here is a picture of my 6.5 Creedmoor with a Aadmount which is stellar and gives 20MOA as well.

Geissle mounts? Wild guess, I'm thinking folks feel they are way over priced? They even do lithium/aluminum mounts.

At the moment my only optic is a Leupold 4-14 (if I recall correctly) with a Burris zero MOA mount and no cantilever. It was never intended for my AR build, and I'm probably getting a 1-6 x 24, so I need to figure out an AR mount as well. With the Geissle mounts they have 3 cantilever offsets, and that's where the confusion begins for me. It looks to me like I don't need any extra offset with a 1-6 but I have seen various setups.

Agreed. Really great mounts for the price point. I don't believe they have a 20MOA base though.

I am a huge fan of Warne Mounts so i would check out their 20MOA LR-Skel mount

For what they are, they certainly are overpriced. Other companies with equally good reputations (perhaps even better in the specific area of scope mounts) offer comparable products for much less.

Get the scope and test the positioning before ordering the mount. Also, remember there's some adjustability there -- you can move the mount's placement on top of the upper receiver.

Vortex makes a one piece mount for this application. Email them. They are very good at getting back to you.

Though I believe in quality scope mounts, unless you're going to be dropping your AR off your MRAP I think most quality mounts work just fine. It's not a .460 NE. No need for stoopid $.
