    Best value $200ish 3-9× scope.

Need to put some glass on a ruger american predator in .308. This is a hunting rifle used for deer and maybe someday an elk.

3-9x40 seems to be the popular choice. Doesn't mean it's the only choice.

I like value over cheap. I'm not looking for the cheapest scope to put on this rifle. I'm looking for a good value. If there is a $600 scope selling for $300 right now that will make a good hunting scope, I'm not opposed to changing my budget a little.

    Price range is $200ish.

Leupold VX series are a nice, robust scope for on the cheap!

I cant recommend any in that range on good faith. Almost all across the board in that range suck.

Check out the Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40, solid reviews on Optics Planet and Amazon.

$200 budget? I can spend that going out for the night lol. Up your budget and put something nicer on that rifle.

I really liked the Nikon P223 3-9. I gave it to my dad because I went with red dots. I think his rifle still wears it.

Ok. I'll up the budget and then wait for a sale. I've tagged out for the season so there is no rush.

A couple that caught my eye and had good reviews were:

Burris Fullfield E1 $150 on sale from $300
Vortex Viper $199 on sale from $299
Leopold vx2 $450ish but do go on sale in the 300 range.

              All of those were 3-9x40.

              Others?

If you're lucky the one jdben linked works out to $250 in the end... that's what I'm hoping.

The regular Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 is a really good scope. When people come in to the store with a $200.00 budget I usually send them home with the Fullfield or a Diamondback, I like the Burris better and have owned a couple. If you want a $600.00 range scope for $300ish this is the best deal I've ever seen. The Meopro is an awesome scope. $349.99 including TT&L and shipping.

I have an E1 3-9. Haven't shot it much so it may find its way onto the american predator and then I can put something else on the rra predator pursuit.

Move up to a Leupold VX2 3-9X40 duplex reticle, non-AO sighted in 2.75" high at 100 yards and hold on the animal. You will have meat in the freezer.

IF you must use that budget get the same scope in a VX1
