I change my AimPoint and MRO batteries every Christmas.....well the ones I leave on. In the grand scheme of things it isn't much money. On my other guns I just have a extra battery in my range bag....lithium batteries basically have zero self discharge. The package on one of the replacement batteries says it's good till 2025....

Lithium batteries don't leak like that.
What's great about the Aimpoints is that there is no reason to ever turn them off or leave the battery out. I change the battery every 3 years on mine, maybe 5 years if someone wants to push their luck.So um... moon labia or something.Comment

Mine are off and batteries out . I don't spend enough time at the range with them. They will last me a whole life time. Those are electronic components. The longer they are on , the quicker they will die. Mine will be on full time when civil war comes. But for now they are in deep sleep.Comment

If your going to keep the Aimpoint on, then you must be keeping the rifle it's mounted to locked and loaded as well, right?
If not, why would you keep it turned on.
Mine is off, rifle unloaded in the safe.So much for being honest.Originally posted by ivanimalPeople that call other member stupid get time off.Comment

1. Because it's cool.
2. 3-5 years down the line I can come on to Calguns and bash the manufacturer because their product died in the safe.
3. Just because I got money to blow.
4. Those light emitters have no life span. They will last forever.Comment
