Aimpoint Pro battery life at different settings

Aimpoint says their pro will last 30000 hours at brightness setting 7 (out of 10). But 7 is hardly bright enough for me during daytime, so I usually set it to 8 or 9. Does anyone know what the battery life is for brightness settings 8 and 9?

I leave mine on at 6 or 7 when locked in the safe. Anyway, I assume the battery life would be less at 8 or 9. Maybe last 15-20000 hrs???

Also, does anyone know how the brightness settings are considered? Is it..
      0 (off), 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 ?
Or is off also counted as a brightness setting?
      1 (off), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10?

Im curious because the battery is rated at 30,000 hours at brightness setting "7", so I want to know if that's 3rd brightest mode, or 4th brightest mode.

It probably lasts equally long given two facts:

            1. The device on-time is a tiny percentage of total-time.

            2. Even when off 100% there is a battery "goes dead" time.

Actually, there are quite a few of us that leave our Aimpoints on all the time.

              I do it like this:

              Leave on.

              Keep 2 extra batteries onboard

Change when dot no longer visible/dimming.

Took a series of classes at the local community college and perfected this technique ...

Unless it's a HD/Duty rig I'd leave the battery out of it. I've seen to many Duracel and Energizer batteries leak. BUIS is good enough for a Zombie Apocalypse until you get a minute to install your battery.

I leave mine on either 8 or 9 out of 10. I usually have to replace the battery every 1.5 to 2 years. I figure that is about about 15,000 hours. More than enough for me.

Mine is at the lowest setting all the time except when I'm shooting it. I personally don't think you should Lowry about it that much. Set it down when not it use, it should last longer than the hours they say.

Hate to revive a dead thread but I've had an Aimpoint Pro since 2012 and have never had a battery last more than a year. The battery that came with the Pro lasted maybe 6-8 months. I've changed batteries 4 more times since. There have been some instances where I've left the battery dead for almost a year before swapping it out. This is due to the fact that I don't get much range time with the particular rifle.

Anyway, I'm finally getting a RMA from Aimpoint to send it in. I'll post back with results.

Highest setting is supposed to last a solid month IIRC... Mine last a loooong time because I turn if off when I store it just like all my other red dots.

                            T1 at level 10 (83% brightness) lasts me roughly 1 - 1.5 years. (8,760 - 13,140 hours of the 50,000 hour spec, 17.5% - 26.2%)

                            Your Pro is lasting 6 - 12 months. (4,380 - 8,760 hours of the 30,000 hour spec, 14.6% - 29.2%)

What's brightness level are you at, 9 or 10?

This makes most sense. From an engineering standpoint and electrical usage standpoint, as perceived brightness increases, energy consumption rises exponentially.

I leave my aimpoints on at around level 7... if i pick one up and theres no red dot, i simply change out the battery. No biggie.

With the AA aimpoints, i run a lithium cell so there's no acid leakage.
